I just committed to buying 2 Rupp 340 sport sleds, one complete and one parts sled for $200. Heading out Tuesday to pick them up.

Please add me to the list. It will give me incentive/motivation to finish my evinrude project that I've been 'working' on for the past 4 years!!

So did you get them Lenny? Let's see some pictures

I didn't, I went a different route and am getting the Merc that was posted on this page. My buddy Nick is picking it up tomorrow and bringing it up here the following weekend. It was $125 and has a good track and not all busted up, no missing parts. Not only that but I owned 2 of these machines years ago and know them well. I will post some pick when it arrives in about 9 days

Going to be a whole new type of riding going on next year for a lot of us it looks like. Will be fun to see what you start out with, so share some photos when you get it.

It is a Super idea that can grow into a annual fun event!
Until I get a different job or win the lottery,.. every year will be
a "last minute" thing for me though,... but looking forward to it!
Lenny IS da man!

no! your da man Vin! It would be cool if you could make a trip, would love to see you. My Merc will be here this coming fri. Nick Trim (boondocker82) picked it up last fri and has it. Byrn71 is coming up this Fri and will bring it with. I have some awesome friends! This one has a good track, good hood, seat is nice and motor runs. I can't wait to tear into it.

I wonder if JD has a vintage sled?

This Rupp is not bad, I talked to the guy and it comes with a parts sled. The one in pic is not busted up and has a nice track,,,which is a big plus.

Merc S/R440,,,,,S/R means slide rail!

The Merc showed up last friday as expected. The machine is in good condition, needs a windshield and a good cleaning so far. New slides came with it. IKt's got some sort of meter on side of sled, maybe to measure exhaust temp,,,never seen one before.

Awesome!! Have fun with it, looks pretty clean. Some of these older sleds are starting to be harder to find in decent shape!

That's the plutonium gauge Lenny!. It helps keep the oil cool. They quit making them
because of the radiation it omitted,... but with today's modern clothing, you should be
just fine. (1) used plutonium rod was good for 100 years,... so you should be good to go
brother! Looks pretty darn nice by the way! I heard there was a toggle switch and a
small after market fan kit that could be installed behind the plutonium rod container that
when engaged, will keep the seat, and foot area heated at 72 degrees! Also a nice feature!!!
YOU ROCK!!!!!!

Is everyone good with 2nd wrk in Feb

Figure you mean weekend (Feb 13/14) Probably won't work for me. I have a guys trip planned that weekend, so I'll be up there, but I doubt they will want to do a vintage ride for a day when they only ride 2 days to start with. If that's when you decide to do it I might still bring the sled with, too far out to make plans like that for sure.

Just make the plan that works best for you. I'll see if I can make it work. If it's a weekend on one side or the other of my guys trip maybe I'll have to make a 10 day trip and just stay up there :)
