Why do my running boards look like a cheese grader?

Had a fun day today, only took about 4 hours and im' only 3/4 of the way done! i'm putting 29 holes in each side and i have 29 on the left and 15 on the right so far. I've gone thru 3 of the bolts that i use for the dimple dying. i have 2 left. i get 15 holes per bolt. and, i found the hole in my heat exchanger, she's pretty ugly. i got a long week ahead of me of tinkering on the sled (spring break = 9 days off of school!) i will be taking some tunnel decals off, maybe tinkering with the suspension and polishing/cleaning. and sometime within the next 10 days i might get the heat exchanger welded and the new track on! (sorry for the poor quality of the heat exchanger pic)

hey INDY, I have a few polaris heat exchangers. I didnt take them off the sled so i dont know exactly what sled they fit but you can have them if they would fit. If you want pics I can send them over.

frnash...asleep at the switch!

A cheese grader would be a person who judges the quality of cheese...grade A, grade B, etc.

Whereas a cheese grater is a secondary use for your running boards.

Finally got one in before nash!

I hope you're happy Nash.... you even have DCSNOMO checking spelling....next thing you know, Lenny will have a spell checker then....what will we do for a laugh??

I guess somebody has to spoil it for everyone.....

BTW Looks like sidewalk egg frying weather by Monday for you...might as well put your kite away for another year....go clean out the AC make sure no mice put nests in there.

As for running boards...and holes...one thing Polaris got right was running the heat around the edges of the running boards. That, in my opinion, was a great way to rid the boards of snow that accomulates there and cools the sled at the same time. Not sure but I think that they stopped doing that now....but I sure like it on my sleds and never have an issue with snow build-up.

evolved chassis was the last chassis they did it to. my 99 indy 500 had them there and my 99 xc 700 doesn't

Wrong answer. Indy, My 01 thru 05 edge Chassis sleds that are liquid cooled ALL have the outer edge running board cooling. So does my 06 RMK 755 IQ chassis. The 550 fans of course to not have it.

Indy, I wish you would of contacted me before you started with your homemade dimple die. I would of sent you the pattern for your sled. For the rest of you out there, I can have more dimple dies made up if anyone is interested.

so far this spring break, i've gotten all the holes i wanted drilled and dimpled, i removed the warning stickers on the dash and above the snowflap, i've removed the tunnel decals along with the fox position sensitive shock sticker, next on the list is remove warning stickers on clutch cover, polish the clutch cover and the pipe then clean and polish the rest of sled, then later in spring break possibly get heat exchanger welded up and get the new track, slides, some new bogie bearings, and the new suspension bolts on along with greasing the whole sled up, and fogging, then maybe next sunday i can push her down to the sled shed. also, i was riding my lawn mower today and the belt was constantly slipping like crazy, it's basically tore to shreds and i need to dig deeper into either the brake or the transmission since something is rattling on take off or when i go up hills. also the easter bunny came early (last pic) o yeah, PR1 i told u the holes are equal! and that hot air gun i got works great for peeling stickers! hopefully my rox stickers come tomorrow! (thanks mjkaliszak)
