they were fantastic Tues, Wed and Thurs. and expecting heavy wet snow today into tomorrow. Some logging popped up this last week but they are short stretches. Went down to Sugar Camp (Kathan Inn). East to Conover (Log Cabin). North to see the Pope and Boulder Junction (Boulder Beer Bar), and Bents Camp. Everything was groomed and in great condition. WATCH OUT FOR DEER.

There’s enough damn snow up here now to last into May.
More tonight we don’t need.

This is a dead end road near our cabin in the Squirrel Lake area. Stay a little west - there should be some snow left, if not go to the Black Bear.

Rode over 300 miles Sat/Sun in Vilas, fantastic.... traffic was light I thought..... a little rain and a day or two in the 40's isn't going to kill the trails.... the plowed roads may start the spring burn down, but trails will be just fine.... I predict we will sled to the end, March 31st.

I was shut down for most of the riding season due to my wife be unable to move around on one foot. I didn't know a broken heel could take so long to heal. Anyway, I am in hopes the weather will cooperate and allow me one more trip! Even Ontario is in this thaw quite a ways north.

Yep, we're planning to head up there Wednesday night, but not sure now as it's supposed to rain Wednesday and Thursday up there too. Looks good again starting on Friday.

Yep, rain and warm weather clear up above Hearst, Cochrane, and Moonbeam. Sucks! Ontario was to be a fall back on this year for us if needed. More bad luck. Keep the faith!

There's no "John Dee" for up there, but from what I can tell it looks like a 24 hour period of rain, late Wednesday - late Thursday, with normal temps behind it, including a bit of snow. This is our only chance for a late last ride so I think we're going to take our chances. Hopefully everything Friday and after will be good. They have a ton of snow up there. We don't really ride through towns much so that shouldn't be an issue. Plan is to ride Searchmont - Halfway - Dubreville - White River - Marathon and then return. We haven't been West of White River so we're excited to check that out.

Go for it, and good luck to you! We ran into the same scenario 2 years ago weather wise. And we lucked out, it froze up, and snowed! The calendar is passing. You'll go thru the "Bad Lands" west of White River on the way to Marathon. The last trip we made that way, we left Marathon and went north into the high country, then east, up to Hillsport, Manitouwadge, then on to Hornepayne. Marathon is a dead end now. I can't wait, and surely hope they get that NOSL loop opened up again. Marathon north to Longlac, north to Nakina, southwest to Geraldton, west to Jellicoe, Beardmore, south to Nipigon, Red Rock, east to Schreiber, Terrace Bay, and Marathon. Marathon west to Red Rock is some really rugged country, but absolutely inspiring beautiful! It used to be called (The North of Superior Loop).

Yeah we're going. We're just leaving Thursday morning instead of Wednesday afternoon. That trail heading to Marathon has only been reopened for 2 seasons now. They reopened the one that heads straight West to Geraldton, so hopefully they can make a loop again sometime soon. That trail between Dubreville and White River is incredible, so looking forward to seeing it the rest of the way to Marathon.
