Too much.....

Too much money for Insurance for two sleds. Too much money for two sleds. Too much money for trucks and trailers to haul the sleds. Too much work getting the sleds ready for a northern trip. And a lot of money for cabin and eats, sno-gas.
BUT I WOULDN'T TRADE IT FOR ANYTHING!
Snomobiling is a passion! Period. I'm glad to experience a few hours of it while living on this Earth!!!

We all do it for the same reasons, theres nothing else like it. Besides might as well do what makes us happy while we are still able, at least thats what my 85 year old neighbor keeps telling me.

I was thinking the same thing, it's an addiction. 38 years a sledhead junkie. No cure insite. (Dont want a cure either)

Part of what makes snowmobiling so great is the anticipation, the waiting "it's almost here", "whens the next storm", buying parts when there's not a hint of snow around.

Honestly, snowmobiling probably wouldn't be as much fun if we could do it 365 days a year. ( although I would like to see mother nature try that.):D

So yeah the meltdown su**ed big time, but the kid in me is just waiting for the next dumping.

suck it up and quit complaining, if you cannot deal with the weather indy i suggest you sell out now. you are fifteen years old and things probably wont get much better in years to follow. this happens every year, and the whole state always manages to pull through it, so hang in there and in a couple weeks we will all forget about the late december thaw of 2010. Not trying to be a jerk, but saying how it is, it is what it is no matter if we like it or not.

Tadsfathead, stop being such a mean punk.

Ive asked my self that many of times im only 19 i dont really have the money to do half the stuff i do i save and save i sold my first sled it was a 95 zr 580 i loved that sled did that when i was 15 i got the chance to buy a sabercat 700 blew it up bigger than sh*$ and just now rebuilt it after two years of saving pennies whatever i had left over from the week... My parents have tried for years to have me get a 4 wheeler but i said no.. Yes it depends on the weather but when you busting untouched powder or just riding the trails or around your house the feeling is amazing... i posted this on facebook once ( My world ... when your on the side of a trail sitting on your sled with it so quiet you can hear the snow hitting the ground you cant help but to think this is what it is all about the feeling of being one with the world with nature and not the hectic life back home or work... Its where we all go to enjoy ourselves and forget about our troubles it does not matter if you ripe through powder or just tour the system we all do it for one reason or the other..) This is how i think of it when im putting money into my truck or sled.. Its worth it in the end the power the speed.... maybe not all feel the same this is just me only a small percent of the thousands out there that ride.. I love this sport i have since my first ride its in my blood sorry for being on a rant but if you dont like spending the money tough go buy a little honda or whatever and tell me how much fun that is cause it wont touch the feeling of riding a snowmobile

Love it ride it enjoy it it dont matter about the brand you ride or the gear you wear were all sledders in the end

Because you cant take it with you
Because you cant go 100 mph on a jet ski
Because you cant go a 100 mph on a quad
Because my wife wants me out of the house!!! (My favorite)
Because theres nothing like a twin piped 800 screaming up the hill picking a line thru the trees!
Because already have the truck & trailer for work... & Diesel's cheap (cheaper than race fuel)
Because theres nothing like rolling thru the traps on the old storm mod with 244 pics
Because im out of work all winter
Because ICE fishing gets boring after the 2nd day
Why the heck not.:D:D:D

I have to admit, the speed part is addictive. Not just the sheer speed, but knowing I can go as fast as I want (within reason) and there is no speed limit (here in MI). Plus all of the other stuff already said above.

I used to agonize over the lost snow but then I realized I can get a lot of projects done during that time. So now when there's no snow I work on something from the honeydo list. That way when the snow flies "she" is much more supportive of my addiction........
