xc/sp 700 front clutch side motor mount broke

Okay question is can anyone tell me if replacing the front rubber motor mount with a straight through bolt and nut and piece of rubber ( equal thickness to orignal) is a better choice than the glued two piece mount Polaris has for oem mounts?? I tried it but wasnt a grade 80 bolt and bolt broke under a hard load. any suggestions?? Hate to replace with something oem that will just fail again??

Had same mount break on my 99 xc 700. Do not put a bolt through it, you are throwing off clutch alignment hence the reasoning why the bolt broke. It's not reducing any vibration that way either and is not acting like a cushion like it should be. Replace with a new mount, they are not that expensive. Check your torque stop behind the motor too, move it so its just touching the back of the motor. Mine was an inch away from the motor when I got it, that could be why your mount broke in the first place. You don't have to pull the motor to replace the mounts, I just lifted mine up a little and put the new mount in. The oem mount is the best out there, the hard durometer aftermarket ones vibrate a lot, and the rubber is very brittle.

you know makes sense about vibration, after I put a bolt through it there was vibration that was noticeable during riding, my torque stop bolt was broken, was told by a reputable snowmobile mechanic that the torque stop has nothing to do with the motor mount breaking, the torque stop only keeps the clutches aligned to eliminate belt wear, hmmm idk. Anyways been hearing alot of same problems (front motor mount) on these sleds, just curious if it will be a on going problem, It takes the fun out of riding when you have to constantly keep popping the cowl and worrying if the mount is broke again.

what kind of mechanic told you that?don't go back to him!
so no torque stop has nothing to do with the amount of movement and stress on the other mounts HE IS A DUMB A SS.
if having issues always better to add all the aftermarket mounts you can find.
on my old M1000 I had $350 in extra mounts to keep that thing from twisting.
