Yamaha Oil Changes

Have you seen water in your dry sump tank?

No water, but I always change it at operating temp. How ever, when checking oil cold, milky film in oil filler/dipstick tube. Poo says this is normal in cold conditions, no worry. I have never pulled drain plug when cold, but I will now just out of my curiosity. Many hours/miles on this Ranger, and no engine problems, it does not use any oil. I used to drain the engine sump also when changing oil, but do not do so any longer. Poo does not recommend draining engine sump due to the fact that doing so requires priming the oil pump suction. I have not noticed the milky film in the fill/dipstick tube on the wife's SD 900 ACE, which is also a dry sump system.
