1st sled was a 1997 zl 440 liquid cooled. Mostly rode that in northern wisconsin, the up, and southern wisconsin.
2nd sled was a 2003 zl 550. Rode the same places as above.

Current sleds are 2011 crossfire 800 ho 141, and 2013 xf 1100 turbo Ltd high country 141. Ride mostly in the up and the Keweenaw now. Maybe a trip or two in Wisconsin.

Oh this is a fun one!

First sled I purchased was a 68 Johnson Skee Horse that I bought in about 1971 (already was in parts in various boxes). Put it back together and my wife, 3 year old daughter, and I rode it for two years.

Bought a 72 Skiroule RTX 440 in 74 and it made a permanent impression (hence my screen name) – had styling, power, speed, and a bit of a cooling problem. Bought a 72 Chaparral SSII 400 the same year for my wife. Easily one of the coolest sleds I ever owned. Wish I still had both.

Current Sled? There are a couple choices but for the record I’m going to say 2013 RMK Assault 800.

1st - 2001 Arctic Cat ZL600 EFI ESR. At one point crashed it into a tree, but got it fixed and ran some more. Nice after high school sled.

2nd (and current) - 2010 Acrtic Cat F6 Sno Pro. At a job that pays fairly nice in my 30's, gotta upgrade the toys.

1969 Johnson Challenger. Had a 20hp JLO spitting gas back at your boys when sat down on the thing when I was 13yrs old.
74 295 El Tigre I bought when I turned 18 and started racing.
75 433 GPX, still dabbling in racing, but more for trail riding, you could do that back then.
2015 Viper LTX DX's for the wife and I, and she says "no more racing"!!

First was a 1975 Polaris TC 250. (This poor machine had no idea what it was in for with us kids dragging each other around the property on inner-tubes, tobogans, and runner sleds)
Second was a 1972 Polaris ATX 335. (First real "trail" sled, that never failed me in 5 years of riding)

Current is a 2008 Polaris Switchback 700. (Haven't even seen the snow on this one yet!)

Polaris 42 years worth. First was a new 1972 Colt 175 for Christmas. Had some others along the way but was young and confused.

Same here. Never been on anything but a Polaris. Oh, I guess I have to correct that statement...

When I was in WY last season, I couldn't make it up a hill with the RMK (after 4 attempts). The guy I was riding with took it up and made me get on his Ski-Doo 155 with 2.5" paddles. I made it up no problem. Oh, and I guess the rentals in the Hills prior to having the RMK were those 4 stroke tanks. Other than that, I can honestly say I've never been on anything but Poo.

rode a bunch of friends sleds and rentals for years. Finally bought a 2003 F7 off a buddy in 2008. Wrecked it last year (where did that stump come from?).
Current Sled - a 2012 F8.

The first sled I bought was a '73 Suzuki XR440, bought it with my earnings over the summer of 1977, I was 16. My second sled was a 78 Jag, never looked back, been riding Cat ever since, been 8 of them in between then & now. Present sled is 06 Crossfire6 stretched to 144" with 2" paddle & some extra goodies. As we can see with everyone that has posted so far, there sure has been an evolution in sleds. Good memories & greater ones to be made, we just need to get out of the $13G area for new iron.-Mezz

1st sled: '00 VMax 500 that my dad passed down after he got his Viper

2nd sled: '06 Renegade 600

Current sled: ??? (my plastic toboggan?)

Spend all of my childhood riding the trails of NE Wisconsin. (I feel I can make the claim that I have been on 75+% of the main trails north of Hwy 29 and east of Hwy 45.) The last few years have been a lot of time spent down that one forest road past the big sugar maple.

First sleds: The family's 1973 Moto-Ski F-440 and 1974 Futura 440. The '74 was faster but the '73 was more reliable. My Dad sold both sleds when I was 12 and bought us all cross-country skis...that was a very sad day.

Second sled: Didn't own my own sled until 1996. My wife had our first kid on the way, so I sold my motorcycle and bought a 1996 Ski-Doo Formula STX LT with the 583 motor.

Current sled: 2011 Ski-Doo Renegade Backcountry 800 e-tec.

Most riding growing in in NW Wisconsin and still ride there, in MN, the U.P. and an annual trip to the Bighorn Mountains.
