Electric Honda Snowmobile

A concept vehicle does not necessarily mean that they have any production plans. It is an interesting look though.......

Now thats gotta scare the daylights out of the hotel/motel owners. Extension cords everywhere, doors and windows cracked open, smoke pouring off the electric meter....... I wonder if you can recharge it by towing it, re-generative braking I would think?

That was a pretty radical idea that Honda has going on! Give it two generations and the tighter EPA standards, we'll all be plugging in. The electric meter smoking, that would be something to see!

Ezra, you cruise on a Gold Wing, or you talking when your pushing the lawn mower and the neighbor comes over and hands you the cold to BS?!

Frnash, that has to be a run on sentence, isn't it?

Hope it gets better mileage than the Chevy Volt. Don't know how many charging stations you will find on the trail.
But then if our government will give us 8 - 10 thousand back for buying one.
Ok sorry just could not resist!

The idea of being able to have extra battery packs and swap them out easily..... This is what electric vehicles need to really take off. Pop your seat open and swap out with the fresh batteries. Charge the ones you just took out and keep on playing.

Why not apply this concept to electric cars too. If you are going on a long trip which is over the range of your battery, have extra fresh charged ones to extend the range. You could even standardize the batteries and have exchange programs at the "battery-gas stations". We probably need smaller batteries to make this a realistic idea.

No, they cannot do this, we need to put a stop to this now.

This will be the death knoll for all of the Sea and Snow, loud cans, trouble starting in -30 weather, ethanol / no ethanol, water in gas, etc. threads! What will we have to talk about?

Now, at trail intersections, right under the maps and signs will be the charging station plug-ins.

On some sleds the reverse works by the engine running backwards. On an electric sled, does that mean you would then be recharging the batteries by running in revers?

no gold wings 4 me biggest Honda I have now is a 1958 305cc dream smallest 1962 c100 50cc.
I have had lots of big bikes but don't really do trips or anything so I stick with old small unique bikes now days.I do have a 1957 BSA but that is not really a big bike and buy no stretch of the imagination reliable.I wont even take it out unless I know I have my cell phone and know there will be some one who could come pick me up.
but the Honda's I would take one any place.I love going to the local drive ins with my Honda's on cruising nights. pull in parking next to a 80k or better custom chopper and have a group of guys come over before I even get it shut down to check it out talk about how cool talk about memory lane etc etc and the guy with the 80k bike always looks pissy every time

BTW if any one knows of a nice 05/06 yammi rz350 kenny roberts let me know been looking for one to store and ride 1 time a yr for 10 yrs or so
