Twin Lakes Golf course trespassing

I was asked to post this thread on behalf of the Superior Snowmobile club. Here is a copy of the text along with a picture: This is the Wyandotte Golf Course in Twin Lakes Mi.

This is a request from the Superior Snowmobile Club to ALL trail and off trail riders. There are places to ride and obvious places "not" to ride. Please make the right choice and respect private property or someone else will make the choice for us and that choice will not be good for snowmobiling as we know it. Let's police ourselves and tell others before it is to late. THANK YOU
Picture was taken because there is a No Snowmobile sign with snowmobile tracks going thru anyhow.

One thing we all know is that this is a problem. Lets not all go through the same old practice of telling each other how stupid these people are. It is discouraging to see this as we will suffer in some way eventually. Lets not turn the thread into an ongoing negative response. This thread here is to inform and it will do that as best as the forum allows. A continual bashing of these people who does this just shows how unreasonable we all can be.

I saw the course tracks sat and was in dis-belief so went back to take some pictures today. Although they did receive a good deal of new snow you can still see. In the background you can see a bunch of little mounds where the riders braaaaped a roost. The area was well tracked up. In the above pic there shows just a single track but that was all the picture frame was wide enough to capture. Some riders spent a few minutes and had a ball, very unfortunate.

a few more with a zoom, kinda low quality but I believe you can see what I am getting at. There are 3 signs like the ones in my Pic along the road for about 2/10 of a mile

There's nothing we can do to keep these people out. They probably had trail stickers and booked rooms at a local motel for the first time and thought they were in OZ.

As much as I try to stay out of that area due to all the posers, it will not end until there is no snow in Twin Lakes and snow someplace else.

But, you never know. It could have beem Skylar and crew as they would be overlooked as the usual suspects!

I'm kidding, of course, my vertically challenged friend! I'm just not very happy with what went down!

I have stayed at Wyandotte and been through there numerous times. That golf course looks like a snowmobilers dream, untouched powder, open area, hills, etc... but, it doesn't matter because it has NO SNOWMOBILING signs! I would never think to go past those signs, especially knowing it's a golf course! I guess it's the difference of having common sense and caring about the future of this sport. All we can do is raise the awareness and hope it helps.

I've also stayed their and as snowdance say's it marked and roped off. What a bunch of A-Holes.

It really sucks that the owners who are really nice people had to deal with this.

I thought they built the sand traps just for sled jumping why else would there be such a flat smooth landing area just over the top of the lip

Actually, the first photo submitted with notation from Superior Snowmobile Club was not the golf course--it is snowmobile trespassing across a private lawn in Twin Lakes with "no snowmobile signage" No snowmobiler should have had reason for going thru this area.
(Thanks Lenny for posting pic & notation for the club but I should have told you location of pic)

I stay at that few times a year. It is clearly marked no sleds on course. How can someone not see sign?

Yes I get it.
Ask the people/person who did it and bet they say didnt see the sign .

Who cares what they say? Ignorance or stupidity is not a legal defense, it's a cop-out. The pics show that they went directly past the sign. No too mention if there wasn't a sign it is still not a legal, ridable area. It's like the thread titled "weird things you see on the trail" where someone thought it was appropriate to say they were riding on the Gateway Golf Course in Lando and then come on this board and brag about it.

here↓
Pickup truck chasing us around the Gateway golf course was wierd. At one point he came right next to us and I could almost touch his sideview mirror. He was pissed off.

They just don't give a f*ck!

Perhaps they were playing some golf (winter rules) and since golf carts would not work very they opted to use snowmobiles.

All kidding aside, what a bunch of schmucks!
