There's a lot of dumb in this thread.
First the tether idea is all dumb, you can't spin and keep a tether on so that's out. An RII system (remote ignition interrupt system) like the one used in Monster Trucks is better.
Second the idea that you have to have certain riding time to be a pro is ridiculous. Professional and experienced are not the same thing. If you know the history of the X-games you would know that many of the tricks tried have never been done before and many of the contestants, including Chris Burandt, learn their tricks a week before competition. Sure riding a snowmobile might sound like a prerequisite but the Moore brothers are ATV riders from Texas and won medals their first year of riding.
