UP Signage Revisited

Not trying to call anyone a liar. Definitely do not mean that. I appreciate the clubs, MSA, and DNR and being able to ride. I just have tunnel vision on the LESS COST, LESS FOLLOW UP from the minutes. I know there is a lot more to it. I must be riding sign to sign and not see the whole trail. I am all for more uniformity in trail signage. Being able to use the same signs for ORV and Snowmobile and saving money are great ideas.

United, sorry for my sarcastic post. You have been respectful and I fell into the previous trap from polarice and kept it going, my apologies. I really struggle at believing money is the root of this issue. I mean it's possible I suppose but if so they were brilliant with a great cover up. I have no problem with the logic of less sign input to the brain. A rider will have to figure it out with no help from a sign and the result will be to slow down, safety.

Assuming, Lenny, that the rider has a brain -- an apparatus that most Ricky Racers (who I assume to be the target group of the signage change) are sorely lacking. Or at least, have difficulty in using.

With regards to #1: Thanks for opening my eyes to the maintenance factor. I really had not considered that. I do agree that spending time and money maintaining signs that have little to no benefit is wasteful and would be better spent elsewhere (like grooming).

With regards to #2: I understand the reasoning here and I agree with this idea on paper. However, you give more credit to Ricky Racer as being rational, respectful, and courteous than I do. You believe that Ricky will slow down because there are fewer signs to warn him of dangers; I don't. I believe Ricky does what Ricky wants, signs be damned. He's the greatest rider ever; just ask him and he'll tell you. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

Every 20 yards, really? Wow....I guess my eyes are worse than I thought they were, because I've never noticed that many.

I was being a wee bit sarcastic, unless of course you are talking about Wi trails lol.

this site has become a giggly clik bantering about there superiority to such invented charachters as "Ricky"

Well all I can say is stay alert and pull over when "ricky " comes up on you and is courtious enough to let you have 2 miles to consider the consequences of not letting faster traffic move on by.

Can't we all get along...If you ain't got a badge, then you ain't a cop, so chill out and respect ALL sledders riding style.

I have no problem with the so-called "invented character 'Ricky'" who wants to pass me....more power to him, have at it.....but I have a huge problem with him blasting through a corner on my side of the trail because his ego is greater than his abilities or his brain.

The trap you speak of was not meant as a 'trap.' I speak my viewpoint and if its offends you then that is on you. You are being an extra smart A toward me and acting rather immaturely. I retaliated.

Now if we could fit all that on a t-shirt, we would be rich!
