Yet another Munising warning

A guy on TY posted about his experience from yesterday. Thought I'd give you guys and girls a head's up about this.....

there's a fairly new guy from the U.S. Forest Service Law Enforcement works the upper half of the central U.P. He's got a local reputation for being a SERIOUS a$$hole......now he's taking it to an artform.......guy riding on Trail 8 eastbound where it crosses M-94 just south of Shingleton......this FSLE bu++hole stops him and write him a ticket for having his 9 y.o. son on the sled in front of him (something I've seen hundreds of people do)......APPARENTLY, this guy can interpret the law his own way and determined this practice was "unsafe".......$275 ticket AND he wouldn't allow the guy to take his son back to the hotel.......was going to take kid in his truck but sledder refused to allow child out of his sight........what a PLICK (substitute letters as needed)

This forest service guy already has local LEO's up in arms......he's stopped people in Munising proper for traffic violations......locals are PO'd at him poaching revenue stream.........

That is B.S I ride with my 8 year old who is only 50lbs in front of me all the time as it is a **** of a lot safer than putting him behind me. I would be going to court to fight that ticket for sure.

Unless there is a MI law stating that you cannot have a child in front of you on a snowmobile while operating it, I would hope the poor victim would get an attorney to latch on and sue the badge off this idiot.

We also ran into this ***hole . This persons goal in life is everyone he sees is in violation of something. And he will take it as far as his power lets him,and he thinks he has more power than anyone including the judge and mayor of the area. This guy is a major tool. (God complex) Agian as was said by buddah2 this guy reads the law his own way and is making up stuff that has not happend. These are federal tickets.

I believe his brother is a trooper in the area too. Lots of dui this last summer.... license plate light, seatbelt.... in the middle of the woods on dirt roads.
They sure are protecting and serving...... someone.

Having the child in front of you makes the child the operator and you the passenger regardless of who's hands are on the handlebars.Seen it before you are gonna lose in court.

I heard this jackhole went into the bootlake bar and slamed the sign on the bar that they had in the trail (he removed from the trail) and demanded to talk to the owners and stated that it was illigal to have the sign in the forest.

The subsection of the applicable law makes it illegal to operate a snowmobile in a manner unsafe to other people......in his interpretation "other people" would be the son........but the previous advice of retaining an attorney and fighting it, while the proper way to do it, would be extremely expensive and time consuming.......that's what the a$$hole is banking on..........

Can't stand law enforcement that work against the people not for the people. IL DNR and Conservational officers presume you guilty first not innocent. They harass outdoorsman not protect

Well if that is the case not sure why the 20 times i passed local DNR and sheriffs by my house in S. Wisconsin they have never pulled my over for having a child in front of me? Always just wave me by. There is no need to ticket a family for having fun and doing nothing wrong! Just wrong

You have to get a permit which needs to be approved. More $$$$$$

I have probably logged well over 5000 miles with child in front. 2 more years before child #2 can ride on his own. The kids have always loved it and we have never had a problem.

we ran into this turd a few weeks ago...funny thing, he's got a camera on him, which supposedly means hes on some type of probation...ask around the establishments. there's a flyer out to have this guy petitioned...a lot of dirt on him when his name is brought up, I don't even know where to start!...my guess is hes got a small peni$
