LP Prices?

Ritchie 600 gallons @ $1.69 on 1000 gallon lease tank. More like Fall pricing than Summer pricing!

Did you check with Krist Oil out of Iron River? I had a tank rented with Amerigas but called Krist on every fill to get their best price. Amerigas would match, but with apprehension. I was going to switch to Krist (buy my own tank) but since sold cabin. Owning two properties was way over rated. Buy house/cabin/vacation home all in one, no more multiple properties, that is my game plan at least when I move back to WI.

it is never going to get less expensive why dont you people on propane who plan on staying in the home invest in geo thermal now? the higher energy cost is the more geo will also cost 8 yrs to make it up on natural gas has to be 1/2 that on propane . **** get your buds together in your hood and buy a used well truck then sell when all your holes are dug.

Geo systems use water source heat pumps. Heat pumps require 4 times the electricity than a gas fired furnace. Last time a checked, the power company's are not dropping their prices. Plus maintain a well pump, heat pumps don't last as long, drill prices are laughably high, should I give more facts or is this enough.

I don't know about cost of running pumps but I do have 4 customers I have has for yrs and they have had the same systems from 16 to 7 yrs . I have spoken to them many times about heat and cooling costs over the yrs .
3 of these homes are over 1000sf larger than my home all heat the garages.
poss I use a lot of power but electric is in line with my bills in winter and less in summer and heat is always $100+ less than my bills.
2 of them are closed loop systems buried under 3/4 football field size coil fields. 2 are closed loop well hole with coils dropped in to water table systems.
I have seen a system that have had issues like running well dry on the style that is using well water and then dumping in the creek

Let's do some simple math Ezra. Let's say you can cut your heating and a/c energy use buy 25%. How many years will it take to recover the cost of let's say a simple geo system at 15k. I'm not saying they don't work. In most residential applications, the pay back just isn't there. Keep in mind,I work for an HVAC company that does 30 mil a year. We have two PE's on staff that specialize in energy use and loss. This is no different than buying a Hybrid car,to save a few bucks on gas.

but just like buying a volt or tesla u are forgetting to factor in your friends and neighbors share of the cost of the system. what are the fed rebates and or deductions now days then most of the time u have the local utilities popping in some bucks for energy star qualified bs now where are your costs?
not saying it is the holly grail but if I build again I will be using especially if off the lp grid.

When you buy that next place, make sure you get a place with your own privet lake. Just drop a coil for each system in the lake, and you are done. Most community lakes won't allow geo coils. They are afraid if to many people do it,it will raise the lake temp over time. With the lake set up,the pay back is much faster. Drill costs are what kill most projects.

If I lived in the north woods or had a cheap source of hard wood, this is the way to go. Any one on the fence on a outdoor stove that is none gasification ,you only have a few years to buy them. You can always make your own. Don't shoot the messenger , thank the natural gas and propane industry lobbyists for this mandate. Turns out you wood burning folks are cutting into their profits. This mandate will jack the price of an out door stove to near double. I think they are trying to snuff out the competition. No pun intended.

Got a letter from Central Boiler last month that said there is only 1 year left if you want to buy their Classic Boiler. After that you will have to buy their re-burner gasification job. And yes, it is a lot more $. It also does not burn that much less wood from what I am told. Severity of winter temps will still dictate wood use. They only get so efficient. Late crop in much of the region. This will translate into more LP used in the fall for drying purposes. Your LP prepays might seem high now but it looks like things are lining up for them to drill us again in the fall. Other than these little things have a nice day.

Just paid 1.79 to top off my tank from Tall pines. Settlers was at 1.80. I haven't bought since last summer and I paid 1.40. It should be around 180 gallons. Settlers said they will be offering in August a pre buy at 1.90 a gal,and you must take delivery buy April 2015.There you go, no need to buy a bigger tank. I'm not complaining .
