Check Simonar and Ecklund. They had renegade not sure about the MXZ.

The nytro with the tuner skies is a good sled and if you get a good deal on it would be a good second sled.

Work with Kip and see if he can find you a 2013 or 2014 Nytro.

Well said Evinrude and I couldn't agree more with Polaris98.

Does it matter if the sled has a history of not starting, grenading chaincases, underperforming engine, coolant leaks, stuff not assembled properly....etc etc etc.?

Call it poor engineering.....call it anything you want. When it's time to ride it's time to ride. Hard to do when the sled is in the shop. How on earth can anybody, other than a dealer or those who bleed BLUE, trust this sled or speak positively about it? And don't give me the "they all can grenade line".

I just deleted another paragraph I wrote......why bother. It's YOUR money...spend it on what you want and deal with the good or the bad. Want another 05 Fusion?...buy a Viper and roll the dice.

As Scottking says so well.....groomerdriver out (of this one)

Call around you might find one! I know my dealer is completely sold out of Etec's already but still had a few ACE's left.

We discussed ACE 900 at dinner, now keep in mind this is a spoiled punk kid...says he wouldn't get anywhere near an ACE 90 Hp.
Whatever. It never ends

Paha thats funny. In all honesty tho, i bet u can find an mxz 600 etec, or even a slightly used 2014. Reality is, everyone wants the new Doo's and not many dealers have etecs left but they are still out there.

This is another animal I know but Banks or anyone else have anything to offer on ride quality, heaviness and performance of '14 Nytro- love to hear it. Can't completely get it out of my mind. Kip if you have any public opinions u can state on future resale I'm all ears. (Or PM me) I had somebody tell me there's still a good secondary market for discontinued Nytro's and depreciation not much different from Vector. Not sure I believe....could be sales pitch.

My friend bought a 2010 Nytro last year and I rode it and I thought it was a descent sled. Vector and Nytro are similar power wise. Seating position and coldness are the two difference makers. Nytro Ryder forward Vector sit down

I looked for a good deal on a 2013 or 2014 Nytro but couldn't find one and really wanted the wife and kid to have the R-Motion suspension. It is that good.

All sleds loose value when you buy new or one or two years out. It is the part I don't like but is our pay to play sport we love. I would say resale value is just as good as anything else.

Then you are back to 2014 Viper or 2014 Nytro. I would want the Viper because it is a better suspension and handling sled. Then I would want to turbo it and then I am back to 800 etec.

It is a circle I was running for the last three months. **** I am still wondering if I made the right choice of 900 ace Clutch kit vs 600 etec.

If you are going to wait until January go up by Kip and test ride the Viper and Nytro. You can ride my 800etec or 900 ace anytime.

How's the corner to corner power and what's your estimated top end? And how does it compare to the vector or any 600 you've ridden in last couple years?

When I get a Nytro on trade it's usually gone within a week so hopefully that helps answer your question. I just took a 2012 Nytro XTX on trade today with 868 miles on it. Studded with Rox Riser too. Listed it a couple of hours ago and I've already fielded 3 calls on it. Nytro is a very popular sled for us. Banks93 has the right idea fusion. Ride and see what fits you best my friend. Let yourself make the decision then you only have yourself to blame as groomerdriver so nicely puts it:)

After reading through nearly 100 posts, this is one of the only ones that makes good sense. An unbiased opinion from someone who has actually logged good miles on this sled. Most of the replies on here seem to be from people who have never ridden one or put a just a few miles on one at a dealer demo. Useful information...thanks! I seriously considered getting a Viper but chose to stay with Polaris this time. I may still look at a Viper for my next sled.

X2.

Lots of Nytros on NE Vilas & NW Forests county trails...not sure why maybe coming from flatland no dealer near by to account for it. Maybe Nytro is just a good tight twisty trail sled with super corner to corner handling & power? Nytro Fx was one of my favs to play on reliable 4s lots of snort, easy to stand up on but would be cold & range limited 7 gallon tank when I entered remote UP & WI. Fusion what is required gas range?... I'm thinking Nytro will average 17ish mpg maybe more but better to deal with low numbers with limted gas on board. Let you son test ride both Nytro & Viper my thoughts he might like Nytro better more of a RAW seat of your pants sled begs to be abused. The Viper is much more civilized & refined sled for me kinda boring much preferred the Nytro raw give it **** feel. Remember I ride 2012 Apex XTX with riser so I was looking for something very different. The Nytro XTX was back to boring the 144 is too much track to move for that engine imo but really good in deep snow. To me tests ride them both you will know kip doesn't control the test rides & lets you rip it at will.lol:D

Boy, after reading all the "experts" posts on here I guess I should have kept my twice grenaded Polaris instead of buying two new Vipers!!! Hey Kip, still got it? One thing I've learned over the years, no sled is as good as the "experts" say it is, and no sled is as bad as they say it is. And like my dad used to say, "opinions are like sssholes, everybody has one, don't waste your time trying to find one that smells good". Season's open guys, let's ride!!

WD, I do some 130 -150 mile days, but maybe twice a year. Mostly around 100. 7 gallon tank is an issue, even at 17 MPG that's only 119 mile range. I think it still might work for me because I'm usually around a station, or ride to Boulder, Conover, St. Germain, Manitowish Waters or Lando where I always fill up. The one advantage of 7 gal tank, and I'm sure this was the objective with Yam - less wet weight by 4 gallons when full.

The leftover '14 Vector sold in the 3 days since I noticed it, and pending offer on the ACE 900. Options are disappearing and sleds are moving. Not worried.

The Nytro will be more in the 15 mpg range and I agree the small tank is a bummer for sure.... You can upgrade but like always it will cost money on something that should be bigger in my opinion! BIGGER IS BETTER RIGHT!!

How come no one get's corrected when they say that the 800 Cat motor is their best to date? It's a Suzuki. Just saying. ;)

prob because from at least 02 on up cat has designed/engineered proto and tested all there motors then Suzuki built them

Yup and no one ever called an arctic cat a Suzuki .
.

Not so fast there my friend.......a lot of guys are making some very mild modifications(less than $500) and have Vipers that will hang with most 800s up to any speed..........I'm also of the group that believes you really shouldn't have to mod a sled to make it perform but Yamaha is notorious for leaving a lot of performance on the table for durability's sake, the notable exception to that being the SRX 700s.

oh how early we forget just how much power Yamaha left on the table with all the red head triple's .I actually think they left more on the table than any other trippel in history. what was it 23hp with just a pipe set ? and Yamaha porting has always left a lot of room for improvement on every 2st they made

Fusion : Yeppers at Nytro release it was all about the weight bout the weight no treble lol much better sled imo with at least a 9 gallon tank which if just playing around not a big deal but in remote trail areas the bigger tank would have been installed for my needs. Kip is saying 15mpg so x6 is 90 miles not so bad still have 15 miles of range left. Lots of peeps manage so must be ok for most. For me my former son in law had an old poo 600 triple & we had to think about gas every 60 miles out at 80 that was painful but 90 mile range not so bad. We usually fill up at about 100 miles still plenty of range with Apex as you know but seems to be where our gas stops are located. I would tend to agree left over Nytros are going sell quickly now but with Pat's I buy late model low mile used cherries quickly when they come thru ...the new sled thing not money well spent for me anymore with 4s. :)
