HAHA! That's awesome Skeeter! Thanks, nice to see more positive feedback.

Groomer, its the most noticeable off idle as your starting to spool the turbo and not moving fast, similar to a turbo diesel but you can always hear some wind.

I can't believe groomerdriver would even sit on a Cat much less ever buy one! It would burn his skin so bad he couldn't sit for a month.

Wow, that thing is crazy.................now I did own a 4 stroke apex mtn and that thing could climb Everest..............

i would love to scope that out and maybe give er a rip.......I've bought a couple of sleds from Chad...always fair, honest, and no BS, and this one would add the holy crap factor to my list............

That is one nice looking machine.......if no one comes up with the 20 large, I want to go on record and be the first to offer you 10 large :)

Ok all serious I have never meet you nor been to your shop but it my understanding you sell the heavy Yamaha :) and cat.....with some of the two manufactures sleds so similar is there a reason you decided to do this with the Yamaha over the Cat?

Merry Christmas to all

Sick build guys! Ripper for sure.

If you think some serious rippin' can't go down in the steep and deep on a four banger..... I'm pretty sure Chris Brown proved you wrong like two seasons ago.... Dontchaknow.

Think 20k is crazy for a sled? Don't spend it. Plenty of guys do, and to some thats just getting started. Ever look at the price of a boat? Or a 225 verado outboard, that isn't even attached to a boat yet? How about people that own, and fly airplanes? Race cars? New Harleys? It's all perspective. Is it a "good investment"? Sure is..... and investment in fun. Some people value that, and can afford it. If so, let er buck.

I love seeing dealerships showcasing some of the killer aftermarket options available, and giving potential buyers the option for a sweet turn key setup.

Breeze, you nailed it!

Scott_l, I like the 3 cyl. Yamaha power plant and the idea of a turn key reliable as the day is long at 220hp on pump fuel makes it a reasonable investment in my eyes. Yes the 2 strokes are a great options as well but this sled I feel you aren't sacrificing ANY reliability or longevity. Yes you still have things to worry about but the motor isn't one of them.

Did you shim the head to lower compression to achieve 220 on pump, or is that with stock compression? How much boost is it making at 1000 ft to make 220? Altitude compensating EBC?

He didn't like NAIL it Chad. Like I don't care what Chris Brown (whoever he/she is) like did two years ago. Like I asked way earlier in this thread but my question was never answered. Dontchaknow why a 2S is the preferred steep n deep sled?

Like...ANY snowmobile is a REASONABLE investment? Are you like still sampling the spiked Xmas eggnog? The words "snowmobile" (any toy for that matter) and "investment" should not be allowed to be used int he same sentence. Dontchaknow?

Groomer, were you dropped on your head multiple times as an adult?! Or are you still eating the paint chips??

I dochanow why two strokes are preferred by "most" in the steep and deep. Simple. They are like lighter. That is why I continually scar up my knuckles, while filling garbage cans full of empty beer cans, reeds, motor mounts, and clutches keeping my turbo two "like" stroker up and running. When I get bored with that, I make another trip to the airport to stock up on 100LL at "like" $5 a gallon. I wish I only had like 20 K in that pile... One day I hope to climb to the moon on my pile of junk clutches and motor mounts. At this point, I am only like 67.875% of the way there, and the air is getting awfully thin. Wait, I forgot about the turbo! That will make up for some of the like lack of O2.

However, the ability to go fast through deep pow is one of the best investments in fun I have ever made. With a sled "like" (lol) the one Chad and the boys built, you could do this with far less skin (literally and figuratively) in the game. As an added benefit, you don't have to wait in line for all those pesky air planes when filling up 5 gallon gas cans for your trip to the U.P.

Who cares how many green pieces of paper some may choose to spend, or how many strokes a piston makes between combustion events. After all, snowmobiling is about having fun, dontchaknow.

Again, killer sled, at a solid price.

So now Ill ask a question, even though I know the answer. Why do some prefer boosted 4 strokes, over two strokes (both boosted or stock)?

IMO the 4 stroke off trail guy likes the turn key reliability. And for those that like more than 250hp and like to get crazy, the 4S is capable of more power. Look at the crazy numbers they're getting out of the boosted 4s...500-600hp+. My mechanic's XF1100 will be roughly 300hp on pump and 400hp on C16. Try and do that with a 2S. I like them both and there is a market for both.

Exactly. I was hearing talk of some 700+ numbers out of outlaw guys at haydays.... Insanity!

Couldn't agree more on the reliability, and power of these 4 strokes. And you can fill them up at the pump, AT SEA LEVEL. Try that with a turbo 2 stroke, without pulling all the compression, and timing. Can you say laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagggggggggg.
