momoney don't know why you would want your sled before december.usually the warranty on sled starts the day you pick up at dealer, this being crucial as my 2007 ski-doo blew motor and brp would not warranty since just expired in december.then next year motor failed again with same problem, had to buy a short block from brp, that was enough for me to dump it!!!

Ski-Doo warranty begins on Dec 1 of each year for new sleds; to me living in Green Bay, WI we may get a November snow and can ride the fields or ditches to break in our sleds early plus the trails open December 1. When I ordered my 2015 Renegade, the damn thing did not show at the Dealer until about December 12th. I missed a local snow and an early mega-dump in the UP too; I was fit to be tied!

I ordered a 850 too and the sooner the better as bragging is fun too. Or, just sitting in the garage with a beer watching a November away Packer game on the TV and looking at any sled during the commercials rules too.

I have work to do to mine ;)

I think the contract with warranty is November 30th or the day the sled arrives if later

Ski-Doo warranty DOES NOT start on Dec 1. It starts the day the dealer "warranty registers" your sled. Usually sometime between the day you pick it up and 10 days there after. Sleds come with a 12 month warranty. By your thought, if someone were to buy a leftover '16 sled on Dec 1 of 2016, they would not have any warranty left?? You can buy a 2015 or even a 2014 leftover today (10/4/2016), and it would have 12 months of warranty until 10/4/2017.

Sorry not to clarify, I was speaking of pre-ordered sleds and further this is a 2017 850 thread discussion.

A dealer told me the 850 Summits would be first out. Then the trail sleds. He said it could be mid January before all the 850s are delivered. As they are having production issues at the plant. No clue if its entirely true. And believe me or not. Just passing along what dealer told me.

My buddy in upper MI ordered a new summit. His dealer told him Dec-Jan due to a parts warehouse fire.

the fire starts AFTER the summit is built! not before!

calm down Doo lovers, I have two myself- I was with my friend when his 09 800 summit burned a 4 foot X 10 foot hole in the snow on Lake of the Clouds road however - I am sure Doo has fixed everything in production

Thx, was fully aware it was an 850 thread I just didnt want anyone mistaken how BRP warranty really works, so let me clarify; Pre-ordered sled are the same and no different than in-season sleds. Warranty starts the day you pick it up and dealer warranty registers it with BRP. There is no magical December 1 warranty date.

FYI, since this is an 850 thread,,,,,,,our first 850 is due to ship this month, with one more in November and then the bulk of them all delivered in December. Have not heard of any production problems and I would think 850's are ahead of schedule as promised ship dates for the 850's last spring was anticiapated by BRP to be in December. Classic under promise, over produce game plan played to a tee.
