What method do you use to sell your used sled?

I doubt my Walker Evans are junk gimmick shocks just because the limited 3 click shocks give you 12 less choices....LOL...I think a 5 click quality shock would be a great compromise.

Walker Evans are real shocks just as good as QS3s. But you paid more for them too. The adjustable shock hype is bull though. Your sled rides differently when you have half a tank of gas as compared to a full tank of gas. Your sled rides differently after you get 500 miles on it because you have spring fatigue. Your sleds rides differently when it is 30 degrees above and the snow is squishy than it does when it is 0 and the snow is set up hard. Your sled rides differently with a taller windshield as opposed to a short windshield if you are going over 60. There are many factors that affect ride. You are not going to change much with a click shock. Your head feels better and you are cool because you have clickers but it is just a gimmick feature.

I hear what you are saying. ...conditions are ever changing, but how does a 3 click clicker solve anything. Are you saying keep it simple for us by limiting our fine tuning ability?. Great concept...but I think a 5 clicker would be a sweet spot with every click being consistant in firmness.
I like simple and think 12 to 20 clicks is nonsense for most of us.
Until I can read the trail conditions in front of me like the ones behind me it is a crapshoot.

Bingo. It is mostly in your head. Set your springs for your weight. You want a little drop in. Like about 2 inches. After that set your clickers to the stiffest setting and leave them there. You might be riding along and everything is fine and a softer setting might be a little better but then you turn a corner and there is a launching pad waiting for you. Happens to me all the time. Personal preference though. What works for me might seem stupid to others. Which is fine.

Clickers and damping adjustments are just a gimmick. Always have been. Just a selling point. I have seen guys play with them and really believe they have their sled 'dialed in'. It is all in their head.

I have never seen a better, more adjustable, more responsive shock than the Walker-Evans on my Pro-S / Pro-R. And I've been riding every year since 1993.
The best shocks I've ever had - hands down.

One adjustment in the A.M., 15 seconds per clicker, then another one as trails mogul up.
The point is - I have shocks that work - I don't see anything to complain about.

If need be, I just grab a hand full a walker evans clicker when I am waiting for everyone else to catch up.....you'd never know it.
5 clicks in a 270 degree rotation with a position indicator would be great for most trail riders and conditions.

If 3 clicks ever gets confusing, they do still make zero gimmick shocks without a single click.


To the topic,...CL has helped me sell many things in the past....I almost feel like I need to send them some $$....thanks to the dealerships who apparently pay my way!

Walkers are a real shock. QS3s are a real shock. They would both be good shocks with or without clickers. My point is that many more shocks are junk and would also be junk with or without clickers. I have had a bunch of them. The 'clickers' were a selling feature but they didn't turn a crappy shock into a good one. I have not had a sled with Walkers but I have ridden with lots of guys that have them. They fiddle constantly and I have followed them and looked for differences after they fiddle. And I am sorry but I am not seeing anything different. They are not going any faster or taking less abuse. They are taking less abuse than me though because they have Walkers. I have my wonderful factory junk clickers that probably cost $30 to make.
