wholey craP...took 19 posts before st. Kip was mentioned....you guys are slipping!

big bore kits are a thing of the past. It's a buyers market. Get the 800HO RMK the AXYS chassis.....pour some hot anti freeze on your socks and call it a day.

As far as summer sled attention, I might get around to rinsing them off and pumping in some grease.
Walker evans will need a rebuild.

800 HO is at 7k but I doubt it will get opened up.

I do agree with the above. Not sure it'd be wise sticking that coin in it. I'd be happier than **** if I got 8 grand for my 16 axys 800ho pro rmk with stock shocks!

lol I was thinking my 14m8sp with 1600mi would get me about 5500 on a good day . U will not see 8g out of a 14 just not realistic after last 2 yrs.
sleds use to cost about a grand a yr after the initial 2g hit now looks more like a 3g hit and 1g to $1500 a yr to own
oh well no one ever accused sled heads as rational thrifty people . I would prob have to hang my self if I actually could figure out all the money I pissed away on sleds and mods and what that money would be worth today . but then I would not have 1/2 of the aches and pains to complain about .

I'm sure you know this, but suggested retail is the price it would have sold for new off of the dealer floor. Average retail is more realistic, unless of course this sled is in absolute "mint" condition with exceptionally low miles. You will never recoup the cost of all the extras that you do to the sled. In the same token, I can appreciate wanting to do upgrades, which is cheaper than a new sled for sure. The 600 is a decent engine & is reasonably economical with enough power for the Midwest & the cost of maintenance & frequency of repair is less than that of the larger cc motors. ****, a 2014 is not what I would call old, if your happy with it, keep it & do the things you want to do to it, just don't expect to get it all back, it's far less than a new sled. Just my .02.-Mezz

Guess I had a major brain fart there. Thought it was too good to be. I was looking at "suggested retail" as what a dealer would list it at now. Not that was the list price NEW. Guess I should have figured it out with that being more than I paid for it DUUUHHHH!!!
Thanks for getting my thinking straight. Had those posts of less to upgrade sled clouding my judgment.

Looking like that Carls Cycle big bore kit might be the ticket. TO Do some tinkering this summer to calm that sledding itch. OR find some vintage crap to wrench on.
THANKS TO ALL for the input. Highly Appreciated.

If you had the coin in hand, deals can be had right now - picked up a '16 SB 800 with 465miles and a few upgrades for $7800.

Now the customizations can begin......

Think they'll have these incentives on leftovers in the Fall?

They may if there are any units left; my guy only has a handful and he is on the phone selling right now to be down to zero by the end of April.
If I remember correctly, when MN was selling their Poo's at record discounts one Dealer sold over 200 units in March and April by taking other Dealers overstock.
It sure hurts the depreciation in the area on these units but if it ever snows things will fall back into place in one season.

Really not a lot of new tech for 2018 from any OEM so noncurrent looking good if buying a new sled zero miles 1st owner purchase. Unfortunately the risk for another low snow winter is high imo. Warm ups killed us last year and I see little proof winter will come back strong north of Wausau with warm Spring south of the WI northwoods. The winter weather has been awful for sleddin for 2 years so buying anything new just not appealing to me at this time or near future.

I was figuring it would be like this past year again - there seemed to be a lot of deals out there in the Fall. I've been wanting to upgrade for about 5 years but haven't been able to swing it. Whatever I get I'll have for a long time so not as worried about new tech - anything will be a step up from my 06. Just want something reliable. I've thought about renting but the guys I ride with have a trailer and own sleds so it's easier for trip planning if I own one - enjoy picking the destination at the last minute when you know where the snow is. Just curious how other people saw the market this year.

Sounds like you would be better off renting and if your ride bails due to low snow then you are screwed in IN with a newer sled with no trailer. IDK if sleds are selling now I haven't checked I got disgusted with the season when Phelps trails closed mid February then Vilas closed in next 2 weeks. Difficult to get excited to buy anything next season if like this one. None of my buds are talking mods or any improvements this year never mind a new sled..lol.. I have mine cleaned up and stored but need to grease skid and forget till it snows.....if it does snow. Think about renting or stay with your current sled put sled money towards a new tile shower much better investment.

I offered my Rush Pro-R 6 to the brother for his fiance', but honestly don't care if he takes it. I'll just keep it. But I was looking at a '17 XCR8 for a decent price. Awesome looking sled.

I agree and feel your sadness.
I live in Green Bay, WI and we only rode in the ditches a bit locally as trails NEVER opened from where they cross my local highway this year. It is the first time I remember this occurring in the past 8-10 years; boo-hoo.

I agree.
In Green Bay, WI the local Yamaha/Polaris dealer has 5x the number of UTV/ATV on the showroom in the winter compared to Sleds..sad.
