How far is the demo ride , Calumet and back.?
Yeah, all manufacturers are trying to get new blood in the sport with a mid-sled; I think it is a waste of time, money and R/D.
Doo had the free-style, icky and didn't sell.
A Poo EVO with a fan cooled; noisy and stinky motor, not gonna sell.
A/C with another 2 stroke; probably last about two years then off the books as a loss.
To me a 600 ACE Doo on a normal platform with a "learners key" is the ticket to a market that is small and basically not gonna happen.
BAD SNOW and lazy kids are hurting our sport, no fix for either.

I think Arctic Cat has put a lot more effort into this unit when compared to the EVO and Freestyle. The Evo is a full size chassis with no suspension, fan cooled, carb motor. The blast is a true mid size sled with water cooled, direct injection EFI, clean"er" burning 2 stroke with electric start and full suspension under 400lbs. Can most ride a full size heavier sled? Yes, can they control them? Not as good. I'm surprised how many adults look at it as a bad idea, just because it's not something new for YOU, it's a bad idea? Look around, this sport is declining in numbers each year and if you want it to rebound then something needs to happen. I would've loved to have something like this when I was younger. And I think the LT might be the biggest seller of the 3, not in my market but as I whole market.

I'm with you Chad! This is a refined "midsize" for sure, thus more $$$. I am liking it as it has a "DI fuel injection 2 stroke engine", but curious who's the engine producer/manufacturer? Is this part of the "new" Textron/AC productions?
Sheesh fuji, I get the "BAD SNOW" thing, but now kicking around the kids? Need you remember the song says, "Teacher, leave those kids alone"! You should be "teaching" the kids to snowmobile, and like it!

They just seem to have a cheap look. The front end is one huge piece of textured plastic, the gauge is the crap gauge, switchgear looks like a collection of stuff from the electrical isle at Home Depot, and a headlight that would make 1998 proud. I have nothing against premium money for a smaller sled, but make it premium. If Cat was trying to improve fit, finish and design, the Blast doesn't seem to carry that ethos. It is an $8K sled that looks like it should cost $6K, and I'm not referring to its physical size. It screams cheap, but it's actually not.
At least I bashed all manufacturer's equally.
Put my statement in the time capsule, mids are DOA.
Why buy a mid when a year old leftover full is a better sled for "about the same price" that is a much better investment.
I like MM and Chad, I stay at Ramada next door and seem to buy a few items annually.

I think that it is exciting to see a smaller sled that works. Doesn't matter who makes the thing.
For most of you that have been riding awhile, think back to the first sleds you rode. I learned on JD, Scorpion, Polaris TX sleds, and a variety of Cats in the day. Thinking back brings back fond memories. I still love to hop on some old iron just for kicks. It still surprises me how small and light those sleds are compared to my current sleds. They are fun to ride, and easy to toss around. I wouldn't be a big fan of riding them all day long. The suspensions and motors are junk compared to anything current. The novelty factor wears off.
I've thought it would be fun to have a modern version of a smaller, lighter sled that actually keeps running and rides decent. I also think a sled like that is the "future" of our sport. Buddies kids and new riders are trying to fit on full size machines way too early. It is not as much fun for them like I experienced learning. I've seen quite a few try and quite a few walk away. Some are literally scared of those big machines that don't fit. Scared, done for good.
I would like to try one of these things just to see. I'm looking for a smaller machine with fun factor. Who knows, maybe I can bring along "Scared, done for good", and see if I still have a chance to get them riding.

I don't know about that . a lot of guys with kids won't think for a second at spending the coin on a true mid size sled for the kid . and a deep snow option to boot the western boys will deff buy those up. you can't put a 10 yr old on a rmk we are in a time when if you ride and buy new,sleds every few yrs you are prob well off and need another excuse to get out of town so 8g to bring the kid with a few times is nothing

better investment? lmfao you are joking right?
go try to find a clean 300 freestyle it will cost you 3g and it will prob be gone before you get there. every one I know who has had a 300 freestyle had a list of guys who wanted it .
I've called and text and emailed every Indy 340 and Indy lite I seen on Craigslist this year for my kids, I bet over 50 and everyone one was sold with hours.
