What's It Gonna Be?

I'm in as well & looking forward to it. As far as this site is concerned, from what I understood, or, at least, thought I understood about the ads on this site, were ads that John sold to businesses, not the Google Ads that now bombard the site. I am disappointed that ownership has not been present in the sites operation. One can't help but have a feeling of abandonment which to me has exacerbated the loss of the man that created this site, it's sad. The thing that has kept me coming back here is not only the fact that I have been here since the very beginning, but, the people that have been & are here today. With the current ad bombardments & site unavailability issues, I'm ready for a change. I like what I see so far Gary & thank you for taking on an endeavor of this size. Hopefully everyone will gravitate over & new folks will become a part of it as well.
I'm kinda with Mezz here. I've been here a long time, not quite from the beginning, but close. I don't even ride anymore. But, I come here because of my love for the U.P. I was introduced to the area early in 1988 and have been hooked ever since. Hopefully retire there in 6 years. I had the privilege of spending a few weekends with John, what an amazing down to earth man. I look forward to what we all can share with each other about our experiences in the Yoop. But, I tend to believe that with Gary's site up and running, sooner or later, this site will be history and we'll all be having the same conversations on Snow Trails. That's ok. John Dee was great, now we have something else great to look forward to.

Oh yeah totally agree. Keep up or wave bye bye as the ship leaves the port. John would have changed and improved the site always did he knew the score everything changes just like the weather. I’m thankful the owners whoever they are kept the site somewhat operational for us but imo it needed updating. IMO. I thought someone would buy the site and update or another site would be created to replace JD. We have no idea what ownership wanted to do maybe selling was off limits no way to know but we have reached a fork in the trail which way do we go follow the groomer or do we go in a new direction. Me I’ll try a new direction I’m ready and good to go.

I’m pretty confident that people will support both sites. After all, it’s not a binary choice. How long that continues, I think will depend on the tolerance for the issues we’ve all been experiencing here.

I do plan to continue to provide updates on the Kawasaki project here. There may be some that just prefer to follow it on this board. I will say though, it’s frustrating when I want to post an update and the site is down or I post something and the site goes down and people aren’t able to see the post or respond for several days in some cases.

I’m really looking forward to being able to keep people updated on the project on SnowTrails. I love the photo posting capability. It’s a little different in that the images aren't inserted in the text so they are basically attachments but are full size and I like the fact that I don’t have to resize the photos.
