Locked gates and no grooming north of Mohawk

Umm, if accuracy matters, that would be Toivola. (Yeah, it's derived from "Toivo", the Finnish word for "Hope".)

    Eastern UP help

"Lakenland"? That would be "Lakenenland" -- that's from Lakenen, Tom's surname! Pronounced "Lock-en-en" (approximately, what can I say, it's Finnish!)

    Building / Shop advice

Are you looking for some seriously large doors? Stick this: "aircraft hangar doors" in a google search (without the quotes). Added later: You could easily tuck one of these away in that 120X60X16 building: Cessna Citation Jet/CJ/M2 series,M2 (CJ1) ;) Length: 42 ft. 7 in. Height: 13 ft. 11...

    The Namesake

skiroule (Kelly?): FWIW, way, way back, when I first saw just the title of this thread last year I thought you were going to be writing about a new made-in-Japan sled, The "Namesake" (Na me sa ke): ナメサケ(Katakana) なめさけ(Hiragana). or 鮭 (Kanji) = "Salmon"!(?) Fortunately this thread turned out to be...

    This week's journal, November 28, 2021, "T – 58":

John, this journal sure read like you took a break from "waxing your skis" to "wax enthusiastic" about your favorite weather phenomena. Eloquent, almost poetic. "Two thumbs 'UP'!"

Snow Church & JD Snow Forecast Zones

I hear you have some equipment upgrades coming around the end of the month; I can hardly wait to see the new toys. Another suggestion: I find the maps you have been using very difficult to see; I can barely make out the state boundaries. Also, You'd do well to find a large, prominent cursor, in...

Snow Church & JD Snow Forecast Zones

As I mentioned in a comment on the November 16 edition of Snow Church: Observation: Newbie guests/subscribers that haven’t been following your forecasts probably are unfamiliar with your forecast zones — I couldn’t even find those definitions just now on the old forecast pages. (?)

    Microsoft advice

Instead of Microsoft Office though, I'd strongly recommend LibreOffice, see (click →) https://www.libreoffice.org LibreOffice will do anything Microsoft Office will do, and it's FREE! I've used it for years. (Unless for some reason your son is required to use Microsoft Office.)

Check this out about the Keweenaw

Well done video? Yes, excellent fer sure. The video, that is; the closed captions, not so much — can't handle "Keweenaw":: 0:44: "… well the keyboard is an ideal winter playground …" 1:41: "… quinoa snowmobile club does an amazing job …" (At least they didn't call it QAnon! ) And also at 4:44...

    “Johnny on the Spot” videos

John, I see you plan to do some “Johnny on the Spot” reports from the great outdoors to report on things like snow conditions, big storms and perhaps even the trail conditions. I can see it now, "Johnny on the Spot" doing a Joe Bastardi/Jim Cantore/Al Roker style video scene, barely visible in...

Lac La Belle vs Mount Bohemia

I seriously hope that jerk gets his "corporeal sitting-down apparatus" handed to him in court, and that he …er, daddy … will have to pay Troy and Cathy's legal expenses as well!

    Ad's are Taking Over

The new forum (Discussion Board) is especially nasty on iPad with the message text in a micro/nano-font size and the ads in Fontus Giganticus. (All I can do with it on the iPad is to increase/decrease the size of the whole dam thing!)

Hmmm, so you did try that bikini enterprise, eh? 🤔
