It will be over starting Monday, temps in the 40’s all week.
Looks like 8 am tomorrow they open. Like you said Paul good for the businesses. This year was better but still not the typical winter and last year it was really bad so any extra business is good for them. The businesses give a lot of money to help the clubs out so it's good they get some money back.

Think it’s worth buzzing up being it’ll be 38 on Saturday?

Getting pretty cold Friday night I think Saturday will be ok overall. I do agree with Paul Saturday is most likely the last day. I am just happy to see for the first time that I can personally remember they closed trails and now conditions have changed and they are reopening the trails. If it was later in the month not sure this would happen. Climate prediction center is talking about a possibility of even a bigger snow next weekend. Where was this moisture in January and February. I will give it a go Saturday as I will finally get my sled back after 2 months at the dealt. Maybe I will still get over 100 miles on the new sled.

Good luck with the new sled! If I was a little closer I probably would have ran up but just too much going on.
I think being in Scottsdale last weekend pretty much made me say I’m done with winter! Lol Be safe out there!

Thanks Paul it's been 2 months in the making on getting it back from the dealer but will be nice to get a ride in and make sure all is good for next season.

Thanks sweep. I can see how going to Scottsdale can change your perspective on winter in March. Going to try and stay safe be interesting to see how crowded it will be.

Vilas county seemed to fair pretty well today and the trails looked pretty good at around 2pm, actually stayed pretty white, all the powder we had this winter doesn’t hold a candle to good old fashioned heavy wet!

A few pictures before having to take the sled back to the dealer with a CK engine light. I am surprised how the trails are holding up with the sun out. I think the snow actually beng white PXL_20250308_185726246.jpg PXL_20250308_191523054.jpg instead of brown is helping.

I have checked on lemon laws. On power sports type product the dealer or manufacturer has 3 chances to fix the issue. It's a new issue. I brought it in and they read the code. Exhaust valve not reaching fully closed and motor short to ground. Different issue then what it sat there 4 for 2 months. What I don't know is did they cause the issue but maybe not being careful plugging the plug back into the ECM and one of the pins got bent or did the ECM programming not fully take or is the actuator motor really bad. The actuator goes into a neutral post when it is off and then when the sled starts it should fully close. We started mine up at the dealer and the actuator didn't do anything.🤷

Feel for you Hermie, hopefully you can reason with this dealer and he takes the sled back and you get a new replacement. Nice pics, I didn’t ride this weekend but it looks like trails held up but this will be the end of riding after Sunday high of almost 50.

I would agree with you Paul this is a wrap on the 24/25 season here in Vilas. The season will go down as just ok or just below. I will say what a difference on the trails the heavy wet snow made. If that could have happened rite after Christmas it would of went down as a good season. I think even if we get more snow they won't reopen trails this season getting too late in the season.

Riders out today in Presque Isle. Trails did not look too bad from what I could see from the road. Too much
gravel and pavement for me to get to the trails from my house to take one last ride. Talked with riders yesterday at 30 Point Tap and Retreat. Said most of PI and MW trails were still ok but going towards Mercer or Boulder Junction got really rough with moguls and mud/dirt. I will be very surprised if Vilas doesn't close the trails tomorrow with the bright sun and 50-degree temps today.

Agree Hermie, that was some nice packing snow. We had one early in December that melted and this one as far as heavy wet snows, needed a couple more like you said. I was actually working on my pier putting new hard plastic wheels on it today in bright sunshine. Getting warm down there!

Bob, I can’t see riding past today, going to be even warmer Monday. I’m ready for Spring, it’s time, glad everyone got one last weekend in.
