My Third (and Fourth) vintage sled projects..... 1979 Polaris TXL 340 @ Centurion 500

Well a little late, but I finally got a chance to work on the seat for the Centurion. When I took it apart, the inner trunk was all busted apart. Thankfully Skiroule told me a long time ago, that the foam and trunk is valuable.... so in my hoarding I mean searches I have accumulated two or three...

    Parking for a Cause

There's no shortage of people, or organizations, that need help. Anything you do to help is better than not doing anything Kip. My thoughts on creating a goal, is that a goal creates common ground and values for each "cause" and eliminates any hint of bias towards one over another. Just Some...

    Parking for a Cause

Excellent idea Kip. Perhaps you could make a sign with a "goal" clearly stated, include current amount raised. Once you reach your goal, start a new one with a new "cause" ..... each season your dealership should post a sign of how much sledders have donated. Our car Club has raised over 35k...

    Chaincase cover leaking

The Polaris seal was used for many years, so your dealer should have one or the aftermarket makes one that places like Dennis Kirk carry. I use sealer only on the bottom 1/2 of the case, as the fluid level when full is approximately 2"

    Polaris Mutt Mod

Kelly, That looks really good with that tank and seat combo. I noticed how the foot wells make this more of a sit back and enjoy the ride type of sled...... you can't really slide forward so you need the seat/tank junction to be comfortable as you lean over to turn. The tank will definitely...

Well gang, I was finally able to transfer my 500 from the sled trailer to my car trailer.... I took a break before dragging it up the ramp and snapped a picture... one seasons toys packed away, another one getting ready.

    Polaris Mutt Mod

Kelly, I agree with the others the red rails look great, maybe red ski loops to help balance out the front..... red loops on shovel ski's would look good!

    Polaris Mutt Mod

Kelly, It's always great when you can find the right parts! Do you plan on keeping it a cleated track, or are you considering a rubber track conversion? It should be fun with the newer mill for power! I have heard that the sears models have aluminum tunnels, whereas the Polaris had steel. Can...

My Third (and Fourth) vintage sled projects..... 1979 Polaris TXL 340 @ Centurion 500

So I am happy to report, that I finally got the TXL back together and running . Been busy with work and other projects but it finally runs again. I need to fill the cooling system and make a few adjustments but it starts up a lot easier than before. I installed the factory air box as well.
