Trails are beautiful this morning...saw many that were freshly groomed. Yes it's going to be warm to day (low 40's)....however the forecast has changed, there is no longer rain in the forecast for tomorrow, and they've lowered the temps significantly. Saturday High of 28, Low of 10, and Sunday...

Bottom line...if you aren't riding you are missing out..anywhere from 8 to 14 inches fell across the northwoods...its thick, it's wet, and the trails are vastly improved....the bad thing is the snow is deep and wet....i got the old 500 stuck on a couple lakes (big drifts)....its like wet...

These pictures were taken a half hour ago near LDF...that driveway was bare pavement at 11:15 this morning...it's snowing at a rate of an inch an hour, and going steady since 11:30 am

The bad news is the trails took a hit over the weekend with warm temps, and very heavy traffic. They are currently in fair to poor condition...especially the railroad grades. The good news is we are currently under a winter storm warning, most of the northwoods is in the 6 to 10 inch band, and...

Here it is in a nut shell. ...Good to very good in most areas...we put on 130 miles today, and I was surprised how good it was. Lake Tom to mcnaughton was excellent as was sugar camp (and the hodag trails we were on)...it was just a bit thin in the thick pine forested areas...otherwise it was...

Trails were excellent today...I only hit a few snirty spots in the pine forest areas...here are three pics (the first one is trail 11 near Buckskin lake, the second was the intersection of 10E and 10 W near Squirrel Lake, and the third is the 17 trail near Fence Lake) Yes there are some snirty...

Took a short spin ...went from just west of Minocqua to Flambeau took trail 11 to trail 23, and back to the Railrode grade (trail 17) just south of Mercer...and back to flambeau...the trails were good to excellent...the fresh snow has made a HUGE difference...it was a fun ride..best trails so...

Looks like 2 to 4 inches for most of the northwoods, except 5 to 8 inches west and north of minocqua... (lac du flambeau, Mercer, and northern price county.)...anything over 3 inches will make the trails very nice from tomahawk and north...we have a good base, and with the cold weather expected...

There is a Fundraiser for Northwoods Passage snowmobile club this weekend, it's a the annual "Slush Run" poker run starting at the Thirsty Giraffee, the lake is marked and most of the stops (not all) are on lake nokomis...also this saturday there will be Pro Vintage snowmobile races at the...

Knight owls trails, basically Hwy J (Irma)and north to tomahawk, and east to Harrison Hills...opened at noon today. Lakes are not marked (as of thursday)...trails are in early season condition, and are a bit thin in spots, however...the cold weather has really tightened up what is out there...

Looks like some areas are getting nailed with lake effect (webcams). Anybody have any totals for the keweenaw, twin lakes, mass city? Haven't seen any snow totals posted.

Took another run today...this time with the old phazer...the trails that were being groomed or panned...have set up nicely with this brutal cold weather (it was 20 below in ldf this morning)...areas on the railroad grades that were loose, and some what snirty in spots, were flat, fast, and...

Left Ldf this morning, am currently by lake nokomis....so far 64 miles on my dad's old 500 venture (test run, first run in two years). The trails around flambeau were mostly white, and overall I'd say good condition....the 17 trail (railrode grade along hwy 47)...was nice all the way to lake...

There are some closures in the minocqua-pier willow area (forest riders club) , and also in the three lakes area. Check the club web pages for more info. No lakes are marked....the lakes are NOT SAFE...so stay off them!!!!

I will never tell you not to ride, or that it's over....however...it's ugly...40's yesterday and today...lots of melting going on...wet areas are bad....the edges of the lakes are breaking away, and even with cooler weather, and some light snow expected Wednesday and Thursday...it's supposed to...

We received 5 to 6 inches so far in Lincoln county (more to the south, less to the north)...right now it's stopped snowing completely...supposed to start back up....I'll let you know...if you are trailering up roads are terrible from central Wisconsin to the north.

Not much to say...conditions deteriorated rapidly Friday and saturday...and are currently toast...lakes are slushy...our base is completely gone, and the frost is even out of the ground. It will take a miracle to get the trails back to rideable...I guess spring has sprung early again this year...

Trails were in good condition as of yesterday afternoon....yes there are a few thin spots here and there, and some icy corners...but for the most part..the trails are in good shape. We received a bit freezing rain and sleet today mixed with light snow (no rain though), and with low temps...

We rode from Tomahawk to the north yesterday...just wanted to give you an update. Tomahawk area trails were a 9 out of 10...beautiful...of course that was early morning until about 11am...so conditions may have changed..the lake tomahawk, St germain sayner area got very snirty and icy in the...
