It snowed real hard for about 3 hours...we ended up with just over 4 inches...it's real fluffy though...either way it should help the trails out a bunch...just watch for ice in the corners, and the lakes are very rough (all that slush froze)......the snow was heavier south than it was...

Well...I had hoped to come on here and give u good news today....that we had fresh snow, and the trails would be good to go by the weekend....but that is just not the case....we received a dusting to a 1/2 an inch across the northwoods....the storm must have went further south...the good thing...

Trails were very good over the weekend...yes we had very heavy traffic ,and the trails got a bit bumpy by the evening, and there was some icy corners..otherwise it's damn nice out there... the clubs were out grooming everynight, and the trails were right back to excellent each morning..the...

We encountered a Fat tire bike rider, on the Hiawatha trail (railroad grade north of Tomahawk) on Sunday.....the guy had the proper clothing, and lighting per Wisconsin state law...he was wearing a reflective shirt with big letters on it that said "you must give me 3 feet"....I stayed behind him...

We ended up with 8 Plus inches of snow in the Tomahawk area from yesterdays storm....there is anywhere from 8-11 inches of new snow through out the northwoods...Riding should be excellent any direction you go from Tomahawk...some of the wet areas are freezing up, and are better than they have...

If you see anybody doing this please report them...as the story says...this is a safety issue...especially for people un familiar with certain lakes...my guess is it's high school brats or ice fishermen (the last two times this has happened, that's who got caught)...

Trails through out the area are in fair to good condition with a few rough spots and areas....the main railroad grade is actually pretty good...a little thin in spots...but we do have a nice ice base out there right now...a few of the wet spots south of town have frozen up nicely....the swamps...

We received about an inch and a half of snow last night into this morning (on top of the inch or so we received Friday)...the snow is a little thin in spots, and we still have some wet areas....the good thing is those areas are getting packed a bit, and we don't have loads of snow insulating...

We lost what little snow we had yesterday....and there is ZERO ice on any lakes (it had started forming in the bays this weekend...then...it rained for two days).....I can't remember the last time the U.P. didn't have rideable snow for the opener.....So far this is not a great start to winter...
