And also for the first time ever, the trails in Brown County, WI were open for a week longer (Jan 15-22) that Oneida County, WI!!! For most of the last 10 years, trails in Brown County rarely opened at all even though, IMO, they could have.
Sitting out on the patio with a beer yesterday afternoon at 72 degrees in East Green Bay. This morning a half inch of snow and 12 degrees! Now any snow on the south side of a building is gone with the strong sun but only 25 degrees.
When going round and round in our 1.5 acre back yard in the 1970s, it would get rough after a few hours. My dad had a spike tooth cultivator for field work. We removed the spikes and dragged the cultivator frame around behind the Johnson Skee-Horse. This worked quite well.
I was in Eagle River over the weekend and was visiting my son (he rented a cabin on Sunset Lake) and I heard was sounded like rock music coming from the north shore of the lake. We walked down to the shore and the noise was coming from what sounded like underneath the ice. There is about 8-10"...
There is a bar and grill about 2 blocks from my house (Highland Howies) which I frequent. This past Sunday, I drove by the parking lot and saw 5 sleds and a truck with a trailer. We had about 16" on the ground after the last storm on on January 13th. People have been dropping and riding from...
Using the Storm Radar app, here in Green Bay the low is not forecast to go below freezing until 12/28 and the high stays above freezing until 01/01. Beyond 12/27, seems like very little moisture is in the forecast for the entire period. Keep the faith; this has happened before. Maybe I...
I grew up in rural northeast Green Bay about 2 miles from where I live now. When I was 15 in 1974, in winter I was taking turns with my younger brothers riding my dad's 1968 Johnson Skee-Horse around the back yard (around and around and around). In summer, we rode our motorcycle (a 1969 Rex...
2.5" in northeast Green Bay. Wet and heavy snow and temp is now at freezing so the unplowed, unsalted roads will be slick tonight and tomorrow morning.
Though I never met John, I feel like I know him personally via his Sunday night journal, Snow Church and his posts and responses on the forums. Prayers go out to Nora, Gracie and the rest of John's family and friends.
RIP, John. You will be missed.
I will second Gary's and John's remarks. I have been to EAA about 10 times now, usually with my dad who was a pilot. Nothing else like it in the world and its right here in Wisconsin! Most of us on this forum like machines and the planes, jets and helicopters you will see at EAA are mind...
Now 2 years in on the 2020 Goldwing. I checked what the local Honda dealer in De Pere would charge for an oil change. $260 o_O. I bought all the stuff and did it myself. Mine has the automatic transmission and has an additional trans filter but was very easy and straight forward after...
Very nice! Once the new man cave is done, make sure to disable the limit switch on the house door that turns on the light that tells your wife that you are going to the garage. I have been trying to disable mine for a few years but I can't find where they put the switch. Every time I head out...
This is all very interesting and somewhat surprising. I do think BEV will continue to improve including the infrastructure to charge them. Remember, our ancestors probably said many of the same things about ICE powered vehicles replacing horses about 120 years ago.
I found a video on YouTube...
