I took an older car in for a tire alignment was told the lower control arms with pressed in ball joints were shot and tie rods were shot, wanted 1400 dollars to repair.
I bought the parts on line and did the work myself. The old parts looked fine. I took them to a reputable front end repair shop...
I had a 79 spitfire that tipped over alot, and a 84 sprintfire nice sled, 340 liquid cooled oil injected direct drive. I put dual carbs and ported it and shaved the heads it was snappy but the direct drive limited top end to 65 or so.
