You've done better than me. Other than when I was a kid many years ago I have never ridden a sled in Indiana. I guess there is a 30 mile loop where you described but I'm not sure exactly where. And I didn't swipe your tool kit, but I'll keep an eye out for it........:)

Are you old enough to have had a GOOD Tombstone pizza?

Try a frozen pothole meat sweats pizza from Kwik Trip. This is now our favorite frozen pizza.

I agree, you'll never eliminate the bad eggs. There will always be some. That's why there needs to be more enforcement and higher fines for infractions. It's pretty simple, allow a bad behavior and you will get more of it. I am trying understand where you and I disagree. Do you think...

What is BS, that many locals don't want to fight the crowds? Or that locals don't break rules? If it is "locals don't break rules" show me where I said that in my post. That is your statement, not mine.

Yes, I guess I am. I have only been here since 2004. Are you here or do you live somewhere south and only come here to play? I am not saying anything is new or worse. I remember well how it used to be and it was worse. But you, like a few others are missing the point of this thread. It has...

The silent sports crowd doesn't care about the money we bring. They wouldn't trade that money for what they see as the environmental damage caused by us and ATV's.

I saw that in the MISROVA newsletter this week. You're right, this is the kind of positive media exposure that needs to be posted. Not the trail closures, trespassing, DUI's, deaths, etc. But like all media or news they always gravitate to the bad news. Even something as simple as a Facebook...

Absolutely true. And the fight isn't over. In PI it was very heated and there were long term friendships that ended because of the ATV division. If the silent sports people can replace one of the town chair seats this year they will probably rescind the ATV ruling. It happened next door in...

I've registered sleds in Wisconsin for 20 years. Like Goofy says it simply makes sense money wise. Same $70 plus $25 club membership to get seven trail passes. I've never registered a sled in Indiana, nor have I ever had one there. No reason to, they stay up north where I need them. I have...

Absolutely correct. It is like everything else these days. The media gets a hold of something and beats it to death until the next thing comes along. Doesn't matter to them what it is as long as it gets views or clicks. Right now sledding is what's being talked about by the locals. Last night...

Here you go, more problems for some of us to blow off. I went looking for the post from last week complaining about sledders running into or narrowly missing the groomer. There were also sledders flipping off the groomer operator. I couldn't find it but that one was in the Vilas paper. I hadn't...

    Ride Light

I've seen a bunch of people this year with Blue LED's on the back of their helmets instead of the normal normal red or orange.

One of the things I have difficulty with is seeing most laser pointers on power point presentations. On most they simply don't show up to me. Of course I HATE powerpoint meetings, also Zoom or Teams so it's been a good excuse for not paying much attention during them. :D

Neat idea. But meaningless to the 8% of us that are color blind. I watched the video on the Ridelites site and saw no difference in the lead or tail sled lights. And before someone asks how I can drive in traffic lights it's done by the light position.

Yep, we finished our riding for the week yesterday and it was picking up fast. We'll stay off the trails until Sunday afternoon or Monday.

Off trail riding on the local news

So after seeing the Minnesota requirements posted above I started wondering what it is in Michigan. Here's the only thing I could find and it came from the Michigan DNR site, "In Michigan, all snowmobile operators who are 12 to 16 years of age are required to take a Michigan-approved snowmobile...
