NEW OWNERS --- Recreational Springs Resort - Black Hills, SD

Oh, man. Trails Head Lodge is always rocking during the snow season. This shot is of their parking lot in 2012 --- Directly after a huge dump. Best trip I've had over there, timed it absolutley perfect. 15" the day we were coming over and another 12 that night while we were snoozing, then...

NEW OWNERS --- Recreational Springs Resort - Black Hills, SD

Two seasons ago, we took a trip to the B. Hills and stayed at Recreational Springs Resort. That experience was the worst ever which prompted me to write up a terrible review on this site. It was so bad we even notified the BBB. Our biggest concern was the rentals and the fact that they were...

    Hay Days 2014

30 days out and not one comment on who "needs" what. I'll start... 1) Boots. Think I'm going with MF. 2) Extra goggles. Now that I've been out West, I fully understand the need for multiple sets (learned the hard way). 3) Backpack. 4) New tunnel bag. 5) Open face helmet (if I can find...

    Crickets

3rd post in 20 minutes if that helps the cause... Lots of time taken up with the truck at the moment. Some f***er coming at me (texting) and came into my lane. When I realized he wasn't gonna be getting back over, went up onto the curb, but he clipped my bedside. Depending on who you ask...

    Snowy Mountains - April 2014

First trip out West. Absolutely amazing powder!!! Slightly over my riding talent, but somehow we managed. Deep pow days 1 and 2, pretty set up the other days. Can't thank Sam and his buddy Kurtis enough for helping with all the stucks (and there were lots). They would encourage me to try...

    How long will they go?

Got the new sled mag’s in the mail yesterday. I'm sure it's old news, but saw that Ski-Doo has a new mtn. sled with a 174” (3” paddle) track. Good lord, these lengths just keep getting longer and longer! I guess my 144” is considered a short track now days. Crazy!

    Roof shoveling

This "roof raking" stuff would have never crossed my mind. But once you see a roof like this, I guess it makes sense.

    NE Iowa Conditions?

Had the most epic day of riding ever with this guy over the weekend. No deep powder, no freshly groomed trails (although they were great), no break-neck speeds and no beers afterword to BS (Red Bull on the ride home as he told me his favorite parts from the day). Still the best time I’ve ever...

    Off-Trail Tour Guide Needed

Would like to get one more “real deal” trip in this year (preferably off trail). Anywhere between these dates can work for me: 3/7 thru 3/13 or 3/15 thru 3/20. Send me a PM if you got something planned within these dates and wouldn’t mind having another tag along. Will travel --- UP, MN, WI...

    Black Hills, SD Anyone?

UP website probably not the best place to post this, but here goes. Looking for someone to ride the Black Hills of SD: Leaving from Des Moines, IA Saturday morning 2/15 (stupid V. Day on Friday), Returning Wednesday morning 2/19. Meet up along I35/90 (anywhere in-between) or hook up when we...

    On the board

About 2" today. Had to run the sled around the neighborhood just to be sure it was running good. Racked up about 2.5 miles total. LOL! What's everyone else got on so far this season?

    Truck loading ramp

Ready to chase. Ended up buying a ramp, this way I can load the sled into the bed without the platform if need be. 2X8's so the ramp slides right under (as you can see). Gotta get some guides onto the platform and should be good to go. Not as sexy as an enclosed trailer, but I'll be loving...

    Truck loading ramp

Money tight, giving serious consideration to delaying the enclosed trailer for a yr so I have the funds to chase (and better mpg to boot!). Been watching a few loading ramps on ebay, just wondering if anyone has or has used one they thought was good (or bad). Thanks.

    Trailer TYPE advice needed

Sold the 6X12 cargo hauler tonight, looking to get a new (used) trailer. Not looking for advice on "brand" but rather type (or style). Hoping for another covered, but the 8X12's are like gold. Coming to the realization that the only covered trailers in my range are tilt, so trying to pick my...

    Worlds worst gift wrapper?

Classic guy move here, waited till the last minute to get all the gifts wrapped for the wfe. I was just down in the basement thinking I could possibly be the worst ever at wrapping gifts. Even the "square" boxes tend to give me problems. I didn't even bother wrapping until the past few years...
