I saw a few sleds near Brule, WI. Road crossings looked pretty good and also saw the groomer about mid-afternoon. However, there was a light rain most of the day. (No ice as far as I could tell, however.)
As I recall, the third largest musky ever caught is mounted in the Moccasin Bar right next to downtown (this may or may not be of interest to you). Also, Coop's Pizza is absolutely one of my favorites.
Yes, I remember seeing snowmobiles and ATVs coming out of the trail into the casino/gas station parking lot. I assumed it was a formal/sanctioned trail, but I don't know for sure.
The weather service office in Duluth provided an update about 45 minutes ago and said that predicted snowfall totals for tonight through Thursday have been increased for everyone in their forecast area.
Blizzard Warning has now been issued for Duluth and up the North Shore. Latest shows about 12-18" total in Duluth, and maybe up to 28" up the shore. Fingers crossed, but we'll see.
Latest forecast run is showing about 4-8" for the Brule/Iron River, WI area, and 6-12" near Duluth (and maybe a bit more up the North Shore). Fingers crossed that we all get some!
