on another subject...I can't for the life of me figure out why the iron river, MI club usually ignores the section of trail 2 between george young and where the trail hands off to the Blue Ox club in Florence. West of george young is almost always great. East of there...not so much. Does anyone...

I mentioned in another thread that they hadn't groomed in a while. However the conditions wouldn't keep me from going through there. We stopped at Hilltop in L'Anse and then doubled back ending up in Florence. Awesome day.

Very true. Had it all the way back (towards back of sled) and that wasn’t too comfortable. Now it’s more forward and that was much better

I would say get a trail map and look to see what works for you. You can basically go any direction based on the miles you want to ride. I went through IR yesterday and came from the east. Took Trail 2 west to 15 north all the way to L'Anse and it was all great except north of Sidnaw heading into...

On a positive note I was able to test the new ride and the suspension and all I can say is WOW. Made this rough section tolerable.

It's a shame since there is plenty of snow to work with up there. The only rough section of trails all day was 15 from Sidnaw to L'Anse. 107, 15 south down to Iron River and 2 from Watesmeet all the way to Florence was all great. Rode yesterday from spread eagle and did a loop similar to last week. The 3-4” of snow we received the other day made good trail conditions just about the best you could ask for. Anyone thinking about riding in this area will be very happy. Only passed one group yesterday while on 100 mile day.

Thanks for the heads up. When I was on the trails the other day they happened to be the best in my immediate area and was considering going down there again, but I will steer clear as long as that's the case.
