Definitely not trying to condone the bad behavior. But for an area with extremely beautiful scenery that receives more snowfall than the rest of the Midwest and that depends on tourism, you’d think things would be handled better than they are. On Facebook there is nothing but a solid stream...
Yeah have done this as well with no problems. Seems between the mat issues, all the constant logging on trails, closed trails for 5+ years waiting to be fixed, etc that the area is trying its hardest to get rid of snowmobilers :(
This seems to be a constant battle as years go on, and seems like it gets later and later every year that the mat goes down. Any reason they can’t have this ready to go Dec 1 (obviously weather permitting as they need snow)
Funny you say that, on that little night ride, we came across 3 different groups of old guys sitting trail side in the dark sipping on cold ones watching the moon and stars.
I just took the beer 200 yards to the hotel 😂
Yes same clickers. I do feel it was a huge improvement over my adrenaline, but it’s hard to say for certain how huge since i don’t have one side by side to compare.
Can definitely take H58/Melstrand rd to get around it. Might be why they left so much snow on the road and make it very difficult to drive on to get to the Kingston plains lot
Made a separate thread. I’m not sure you’re going to find anywhere better by Tuesday. There was freezing rain and even warmer temps across western UP Saturday.
What a wild 36 hours! Left my house at 5am Saturday morning on what was supposed to be a 4.25 hr drive to our launch point halfway between Seney and Grand Marais. After getting stuck behind multiple snowplows and dealing with crap roads it turned into 5.5 hours. Plan was to head up towards GM...
2007. Rode 3000 miles that year on my 99 Indy 500, started out using the tech talk section a lot because I needed help wrenching on sleds. My dad stumbled upon the site for the cams, which I liked to look at as a kid, and then realized there was a discussion forum with a bunch of hooligans on...
Don’t disagree, but that doesn’t sell new sleds every year, and not selling new sleds is precisely why cat is in the toughest situation of the 3 brands (all 3 are definitely hurting though)
I guess the negativity towards cat from most sledders seems pretty simple to me… they have been shooting themselves in the foot for nearly 15 years by not giving customers what they want. That’s it. That’s why there is negativity. It doesn’t make sense to most sledders why they refused to bring...
