    TIME TO CALL IT ?

1" of slop here in SE WI. At this point with NO base in N.Wi, and the U.P trails will last if the snow ever comes until the sun comes out. I don't care if is 10 degrees or 30, the sun angle in March is so high it melts snow at any temp. Without a base going into March I can't see any good...

What trip(s) have you cancelled so far?

Can you imagine the clown fest when the first rideable weekend hits in U.P/N.WI??? I am not even sure at this point I want to deal with it. I am supposed to be in the U.P Feb 21-24 but I just don't see any meaning full snow in the extended forecast. Glad we had 10 great days in S.WI in Mid Jan.

COPPER TO LAC LaBELLE TO GAY TO LAKE LINDEN

If I was going to Twin Lakes I would go south and west. This time of year going to through Hancock sucks, many times bare pavement getting through there.

    NW Vilas Update 3/21

You are going to find typical spring riding till the end. Meaning areas in full sun can be mud, plowed roads can be bare, but back in woods will 100% awesome. Plan your route to avoid towns, plowed roads routes and stay in the woods. Heck i trailer sometimes and off load in the woods and...

Heard the same that it happened right over the top of a hill. Sad for all involved, thoughts and prayers to the family of deceased and groomer driver.

2019 900t Enduro Air Suspension Adjustments

I know nothing about Air Ride shocks. But I have Ian at Monster Performance do all my shock work. IMO he is hands down the best shock guy in the USA for sleds. You fill out paper work with riding style your weight etc...... He then calibrates your shocks to where he feels they will give you...

    Tomahawk update 2-15-23

If I can keep my sled cool and trails are open I will ride. Carbides and hifax are easy to replace and cheap. Can’t really do any other damage to sled IMO. My sled and been through years of spring riding, good snow, mud, water, bare roads all part or March/April riding and if you saw it you...

Snobuilder are you active in a snowmobile club? You don’t understand why they make a post about when trails close? And 100% YES snowmobilers can no longer be trusted to self police themselves whether staying on trails or riding when conditions dictate they should be closed. While it’s only a...

SE WI - Walworth - Waukesha - Racine - Kenosha - Jefferson Counties

The sun even at 18-23 degrees melted snow fast yesterday. I had 7-8” of snow in the morning and by the afternoon about 4”. My gravel driveway was sloppy as well and it was 23 air temp.

I saw they were open for a day, but groomers were not going to be out at all. And like I said I have no part in trails opening or closing, you asked what l would have done and that was my opinion.

Well I don't think we will ever agree on this issue. I can say first hand Walworth Co has paid damage claims out in past years. And I am very Pro snowmobile, I knock on landowners door for permission, mark trails, brush trails, and help at fundraisers for the club. And I have ZERO input with...

SE WI - Walworth - Waukesha - Racine - Kenosha - Jefferson Counties

I did not drive around and look any part of the county besides where I live which is the far NW corner. From what I saw the last day they were open some trails were down to dirt while others looked great. Had it been just chisel plowed fields that were a problem I would have kept them open...

SE WI - Walworth - Waukesha - Racine - Kenosha - Jefferson Counties

Years ago people were much more respectful of others land and seemed to have more brains. And there were far less landowners to deal with as people owned bigger chunks of land and there was not much development. Now it seems we come across all kinds of 2-5 acres properties we have to cross...

SE WI - Walworth - Waukesha - Racine - Kenosha - Jefferson Counties

Kenosha, explains why I never knew that, but it also states those are just Min guidelines not a hard set "rule" as others things can determine the trail opening to.
