I feel the compadreship and the strong code of brotherhoodship reading all the posts. And find it entertaining/fun and at times informativeship.

All I know, which really isn’t that much, is that john’s forecast for today put a smile on my face! I am in Hayward and tired of watching the rain fall and snow melting, it’s winter ❄️ and that means snow. And I don’t post much while on sleddin trips, usually busy riding and enjoying the commodore of the people around me. To be honest, I love riding a sled but just as much I love the group chats talking about the upcoming trip, loading the sleds, the ride up and all the stupid talk amongst friends and the trailside stops making fun of one of our riders on how he got stuck....again, playing ship, captain crew, euchre and watching the playoff games together. To me, there’s more to sledding than just riding.....That’s all part of the sledding package!

I do not think this site is over moderated.

However, I do think that there is a core group on here that cares less what anyone else posts and tend to steer the conversations to their own agenda.

Don~

Agree, as it seems somewhat like that. But, I say so what! All fun, no hate.

Agree 95%, but IMO more moderation than most sites.

i had to think about this for a few minutes..

so i just point out something..pretty accurate if u ask me..and u suggest i just go away?

really..

soory but the moderation is way different than it was when i first came on..pretty much started last year with the new mod..disquised swearing was never changed..that was a decision the site made last year..the software even asterisked it..your site your rules..

but to just say go away is pretty shocking..especially to me who had never really caused any problems

and yea by the way there are no more laughs here..just a fact..even tho i try

Agree - yeah pretty ridiculous.

The filter for using foul language went in before I ever changed the board from Ask John to a general discussion board.

We all have our opinions on things and as long as the rules are followed, I let it go.

We all also have our perspectives and my only point to responding is to correct things your perspective see that are not factual.

You are right, my site, my rules. They are fairly simple. Have respect and a level of decorum. If you have to use swearing or be disrespectful to get your point across, there are 1000's of other places on the web you can go. You are always welcomed here, but my site, my rules. Seems pretty simple and has been working for decades.

Yea, if they don't like the rules. No one forces anyone to come to this site, it's a choice the person makes. Life is too short. There are a lot of sites I don't visit anymore, because I didn't like the content, lack iof moderation, the rules, whatever, so I just quit visiting those sites. The rules here are simple, act like an adult follow the rules, and there will be no problems. Not that hard to figure out.

I've been coming here on and off since John had the PolCat I believe...IMO discussion forums as a whole have been on a decline comment wise. I still enjoy the site and think its a great group of people. I also think that time, or lack thereof, has something to do with it. When the site started there wasn't Facebook, Snapchat, and whatever else people send pics to each other nowadays.

Anybody remember the guys that used to write to each other like there snowmobiles were dragons or something...I could never follow it.

What bothers me more is that it has been snowing all day in the Northwoods and there is a total of ONE snow report for the day.

OMG! I am wondering WTH, there are no ride reports either; "trail 109 from 3 south to Alston is groomed" etc.
Does nobody ride?

I like real reports from the field, not the BS that chambers tell us. Eagle River, for one, calls a dusting 4 inches.

That is why i like the live videos from the groomer drivers, live videos from other sledders. It becomes real clear who is reporting actual conditions.
