Ahh, yes, the Assault 144. $1000 more than the standard RMK. The young guy in me who likes to do this...

is thinking Assault for sure. BUT, that young guy doesn't show up all that often, and so for a $1000 less, the old guy in me would be quite happy with the standard RMK.

Here is the Assault 144, standard version, and the orange crushing it version.

Boy they sure are beautifull, kinda reminds me of the BLADE!! They did good till Yammi brought out the first RX1ton at Eagle River races! The Blade was being advertised as the worlds fastest production sled. They had one up on a turning pedastil with spotlights on it! After 3 laps of RX1ton and Bobby Donahue the display was dismantled. just my .02 but I think the sled is beautifull but your buying a hand grenade!Did Polaris ever get their engine issues taken care of!

Thank you Skylar!!

If you had Assault 800, the young guy would be there all the time. You know, like the little blue pill. Even though I have no need for the little blue pill, because I would have an Assualt 800. Just think, with this sled champagne would fall from the heavens and you would be on everyones A-list. Until it melted down to a pile of plastic goo.

Love you man

Hard to admit I am considering going back to a 2S, I have ridden a Yamaha Rage for 4 years. But at 4200 miles it is out in my garage all torn apart getting all new jackshaft and driveshaft bearings as well as all new idlers in the suspension - several of them will barely turn! After having 5 Polaris sleds that were all bulletproof for 8K miles or more, my infatuation with Yamaha is fading fast.-

agreed, yami's seem to have bearing failure issues sooner than other brands, and they're real fun to replace, love how easy to work on the yami's are!?!

Disappointing overall.
No direct injected 2-stroke (E-Tec).
Nothing close to a 427 Lb. trail shredder (MX-ZX).
No mention of having fixed the 800 engine problems.

What is impressive;
Polaris reduced the weight of their Pro-RMK 800-163 to be 14 Lbs. LESS than a Summit X 800-163! I like the RMK rear bumper design, slotted tunnel sides, ported snow flap, hollow jackshaft, lightweight rotor, & new spindles. The retro graphics idea is cool, but the execution could be better IMO.

The Ski-Doo catalog continues to sit on top of my stack.

Hey indy500 watch out. The last time I checked MY POOLARIS had russian & chineeese bearings. Nothing a trip to Bearing Hdqts. cant fix. Would it really kill Poo to put GOOD bearings in this stuff?

800 engine now has 2 injectors whereas before they had 4.

I finsihed pulling all the bearings out of my yami and most of them are stamped "Romania" including the 2 upper idler bearings from the suspension that are locked up tight. New ones from the dealer are indeed "Made In China". Ordered parts today. List price for the bearings and seals was over $200. Ouch.

where do you go? i can get jackshaft and driveshaft bearings for $12 a piece. get idler wheel bearings for $3-$4. is it any type of special bearing you have to get in there?

One of my bearings went at 9,000 miles (seems like good bearings to me) this year on my 2006 FST Classic and we replaced all 3 while it was apart. The bearings and seals were only around $26 each. I have 10,500 miles on it now and have never had to replace any idler bearings. Still have original carbides on it and the hyfax have hardly worn. I did replace the hyfax at 7,000 miles when I was replacing the track, but they didn't need it. The set I have on now show very little signs of wear.
