2011 Switchback Assault 800

The Poo 800 from 09 - present have been nothing but problems. Sorry to hear your having problems, but, from what I understand, is just something your gonna need to get used to :(

Agree with you on the 2008-2010 800.(4-injector)

However the 2011 has 2 injectors and less compression, thus making less h.p. and I haven't seen too many complaints specifically on the 2011's

Did you give that same advice to the individual who bought yours? LOL

Actually mine was running good when I sold it, I put a Power Commander V on it. I just wanted it gone, that doesn't excuse Poo for their negligence. Let me ask you this, do you think Poo warned anybody about buying a new 2010 800 CFI when they knew they had the issues with the '08's and '09's ? Like anything else, it's buyer beware. I may never consider buying another Polaris after that debacle.

Honestly, I really felt the same way with my 08 Dragon. But this new Assault has made me forget all about that poor motor performance. If you get a chance, jump on one and take it for a spin. Honestly, you won't believe it!!

In the shop

Well here I go, three weeks in the shop and still no fix. Snow is disappearing and Polaris is feeding me a load of b--- s---! guess I'll have to start getting my fishing gear ready.

Tog lodge has 9 new Polaris 800 blown motors

are you kidding me? That sucks.........

IS there any chance the problem you guys are having is in the throttle assembly? If these sleds are throttle by wire check resistance. If not check them out for any loose wires or moisture in the any of the switches. Also check the motor mounts if that thing is moving around the clutches will not stay aligned.

can only say this for now.......warm your sleds up before you take off that includes and I mean includes when you stop for a smoke or whatever.....80deg will not work 120 or better before you take off.........poo has blamed everything from oil to operator!!!!

Firecat Guy,

What year are those 800's that grenaded @ Togwotee Lodge?

I currently ride 2007 DRAGON 700, 4500+ miles, no issues.

Past rides, all Sno-checked
2002 EDGE-X 800, SLP Stage 1+, 6400+ Miles, pull the rope + go!
2001 EDGE-X 600, 3200+ miles, pull the rope + go!
1999 XCR 800, 3000+ miles, pull the rope + go!
1998 XC 700, 5000+ miles, SLP Stage 1+, still runnin', pull the rope + go!

1997 PRO-785 Jet-Ski, Triple Piped, the one available to the racers only, 90 day warranty, I beat on it for 3 seasons, sold it to my bud, it's still friggin' runnin, NEVER broke!

I agree that the 2008-2010 4-injector 800 is a time bomb, and yeah I'm a POLARIS guy on sleds + RZR's, Sea-Doo on Watercraft

However, I was/am?? serious about a 2012 800 (lookin' to upgrade, NOT to go backwards) as all the reports I've read about the 2011 800 on Sno-West are positive?????????????????????

they have had decades of experiance blaming others for there half *** R&D and testing.I washed my hands in 97 after it was my falt the center jug burnt 2 times in 500mi funny thing was every one I knew with that sled had the same thing but I guess it was all opperator issues.I have buds who have been taking the abbuse for over 18yrs I often think they must go visit the s&m dungen in the summer mo to get the fix of abbuse

Well it took Polaris almost a month to fix the issue and now the sled is running great.

They replaced the injectors.
Prior to fixing that issue they had to replace the wiring harness because the sled would not start. Hopefully that's the last of my problems with this sled?

did you run pre-mix in your first tank of gas? probly what plugged injectors, my dealer told me to omit pre-mix in first tank 'cause of this.

Will be checking MPG this week. Hopefully we get the snow they are calling for this week, should have some powder to ride in.

Yes I did put oil in the first tank of gas, normally do so on a new sled, never had a problem with that before.

We were thinking about heading up to Twin Lakes/Parkview his weekend,

How much snow are you expecting and how far South

Hoping to be able to ride at least to/ out of Rockland on the WHITE stuff!

I have the same bog but I don't have it that often. I'm guessing I have about 700 miles on mine and have had the bog maybe 5 times and it is often right around the 70mph mark. Seems like you just get out of it for a sec and it is gone. I'm sure it is in the mapping.

But other than that, this sled is AWESOME. I'm fine with my "Go Polaris the way out"!!! Was definitely questioning that though with my 08 700 Dragon SB but this Assault puts a smile on my face every time I fire it up!

That is good to hear!
