I know guys that have done it with four stroke turbos, and didn't notice any difference at all...so you bring up a good point...I think it's worse to run 87 in an etec, you are more likely to have an issue. The old 900s all ran 87, as did my 1200,...the only difference I know of was a bump in HP for the 900 when the gen 4 came out.....and of course the turbo was 91 octane from day one....but it may not make as big of a difference for these 4 strokes...i'll have to do some digging as to the reason why ...I'm sure it's something with how the ignitions are setup..but you'd think with all this tech they could sense lower octane fuel and adjust accordingly/automatically....NO?Thanks for the info attakman. 20 to 21 sounds great for me, as I had been told barely any difference from the 900NA, unless you're on the flipper, gas hard. I do remember, and perhaps you do too, back in the year when the first 900T came out, there was a fellow closely watched in Canada, that ran close to 23K total miles on it in that one year. As I remember on his final report of his finished excursion, the big majority of his miles were put on using Reg grade gas? He didn't seem concerned as many times he had no choice on what was available for fuel. I followed him as many did on DooTalk.
