I have seen them run at the grass drags we run in princeton, 160 in less 500 feet, on the brake before they cross the line, shooting fire out the exhaust and everything. it is awesome

400+

ASk Jeff Fisher @ Motorsports Plus in So. St. Paul, MN. I'm sure his Yammie 4stroker turboed is over 400hsp. If not he will build one for you.

That sled absolutely with out a doubt could be putting down 400 h.p. The turbos setups for sleds are getting better and better every day.

I did see what happens when something breaks lose on a 375hp yammi turbo at 100+mph grenade is a understatement.it is fun to see the big turbos run most big hp big boost turbos don't last long that I have seen and when they go they go big.

400 hp. would be nice. You can get more riding in at a faster pace, in less time. People
need this because the winters seem to be getting shorter.

400 hp is realistic. We have a Nytro MTX with a stage II supercharger on a stock block that runs 260hp. It needs 110 octane to run at sea level but can run pump gas out west. With some improved parts (Rods, valves, and injectors) we could run big boost and get into the mid 300hp. It's great power

Some of the guys out west (Irmen, Swenson, McLaren, etc) did some crazy stuff to their old Apex's (or is that Api?). Purpose built turbo engines (lower comp with stout rods and cam timing) turbo at huge levels of boost, meth injection to keep it together, race fuel and just incase you need a bit more a good old shot of nitrous. I could have sworn I had heard that some of these guys sleds were well in excess of 400hp before you hit the nitrous button.

Rated R was a nitro methane powered sled, supposedly 750 hp

I have riden an Attak boosted to about 300hp on Lake Gogebic. It was geared and clutched more for acceleration than top speed. The only way to describe it is as a rocket. The guy had it setup near perfectly, grab a hand full of throttle from a dead stop and the skis would lift about 10" off the snow and carry them until I let off the gas. Cruising at 100mph was nothing and a full throttle pull from 100 would lift the skis slightly off the snow.

The difference was far greater that I could have ever imagined and the sound was intoxicating.

If anyone ever goes on Totallyamaha you can find sleds even more nasty than this one. 400 plus HP sleds are a reality. Generally speaking each hp gain on an Apex costs about $100. A stock Apex dynos around 147 HP. If you want to get an Apex to 400 hp it is more than possible. You just need about $28,000.00. Track Hp on an Apex is roughly 1/2 of engine Hp. It has become painfully obvious that when track HP increases to 100 hp and beyond, there gets to be reliability issues with the rest of the driveline. The rest of the vehicle is simply not able to withstand the torque and HP. That being said I would love to have more $ than I knew what to do with. If that dude had a 400 HP Apex I would spend another 2 grand just to squeak by him.
