try replacing the temp sender, these have been known to cause backfiring "limp mode" slp makes a bypass plug for it for $11 think sensor is less then 20 from poo.

well replace the primary clutch to a new one cuz my old one was wore out, weight bushings were junk, 1 roller was flat, and weights were grinding the sheeve. so thought that this might fix my problem but it still bogs.

try turning on the choke when it starts to die. when my sleds are cold they do the same thing.(all though i not sure how that will help) mabye tell if is a lean bog

Just a few more things that are stupid but worth checking. Are your vent lines to your air box hooked up? Is the vent on your gas cap letting air in? Do you have the correct plugs? Are your plugs fouled? What does the sled idle at? Are the carbs synced? Didn't know 01's had the tps to the carbs? If so you can try unplugging it. Just a few stupid ideas worth checking...

sure sounds like something happened here due to carb work=maybe carbs got switched around ?in otherwards=check synch on carbs, also if backfiring,is there too much throttle cable slack now? this will cause safety switch backfire! i suggest rechecking all of your work and synch with synch tool, not just by eye!

its a 03 not 01 and all air hoses are hooked up, right plugs, and not fouled, it backfires once and a while. i think it hAS SOMETHING TO DO WIHT THE SAFTY SWITCH AND SLACK ON THE CABLE

I could help you out for reasonable expense. I am in east troy wi. I have worked on many polaris',and used to be a master tech, but not anymore. let me know,I will dial it in! otherwise, like i said, recheck your work and get it synched

i thought those were racked carbs and don't need to be synched.

if someone "fiddled" with adjustments then will need synch, also dont want to assume that its synched, better to check. but yes, those do not get out of synch usually

welll i had a mechanic look at it and he couldnt figure it out.... snake if ur not to busy and want to give it it a shot to try and help me shoot me a call or text 920-342-2392. i just dont have garage space to work on the sled right now. have t work on it outside

Exhaust Valves are an important part of this engines performance. I have seen where the bellows have had holes in them, or the valve is sticky. This would do exactly what has been descibed.

I talked with ttallin via phone yest. it should be noted that he said he rebuilt motor recently. you say it has port work done? who did it? I have seen a real bad bog symptom, like u describe, if someone "overported". if thats the case, you can pretty much plan on new jugs. otherwise=did it bog prior to rebuild? I'm not trying to insult you,but are the pistons on correct way?

so my sled was running fine but little rich so i put smaller jets in after this the sled would bog out when i gave it gas. it would run then u let off gas then it bogs like its not getting gas. thought the gas line was pinched but it was not, all of the hoses from carbs to airbox are hookd up. i was thinking fuel pump or filter?? but it was just running fine 20 mins before. thats why im kinda stumped.
Did you try putting the jets back in that you took out?
Also sometimes there is a washer between the jet and the seat check for that.

I had the same problem with my 02 700 ves. It had a pin hole in one of the bellows. $32 bucks later and it ran just fine.

Good luck.
