-5 this morning here in the banana belt with 4" of fresh fine snow to move. -3 yesterday with 3" of fine snow, Extreme Cold Warning in place through Tuesday. Kids have no school today due to the extreme cold throughout the entire UP. Thankfully we don't have it too bad as minus single digits are somewhat tolerable. Stay warm, stay safe.

Was -19 at 7:00am got a heatwave going on now up to -13 at 9:45.

Screwl, good one! Yep, all schools are closed again tomorrow in all of the UP. Except for Northern & MTU that is. Tech is busy working on their snow statues for Winter Carnival, they love this cold because the snow packs so tight. I think they're nuts.

Outdoor Central Boiler? We haven't used ours in a few years, nobody wants to cut wood here anymore or go out and feed it. Sure miss it tho. (first 7 years we never had to fill our propane tank)

My brother has one and you're right, they're a lot of work. Cutting, splitting, and hauling wood is no picnic. But, you can't beat the energy cost and if you have a wood lot it's a good way to manage the dead stuff and encourage new growth.
