Animosity Regarding Off Trail Powder Riders & Long Track Sleds?

Seems to be a lot of animosity lately regarding off trail powder riders & long track sleds. I ride with a 136 ripsaw track with 108 studs on a few unplowed forest roads but for the most part I'm a high mile trail rider. What am I missing? Ride whatever length track you want. Ride off trail or on trail legally & have ball why would I care?

Ride legal and ride safe. If everyone did that, I wouldn't think there would be any animosity. A small percentage of knuckleheads create a majority of the problems as with most things.

I think the animosity is towards those that do not do it legally. The problem is that so many do it illegally that it is starting to cause problems for both the trail riders and the legal off trail riders.

A good example of this is on trail 13, numerous signs are posted on the side of a hill which is 12 feet from the road. At this location it's a safety issue and still these numnuts go up and down the hill coming within inches of the signs and cars and trucks motoring down the road. It's just a matter of time until there is a serious accident at this location. Or the State revokes use of the right of way!

What if you own a Toyota, and are drinking, and off trail, and have a loud pipe and; God forbid: ... use hand signals?

I can't say for sure but more than likely those are trail riders trying to ride off trail. for those of us that actually ride off trail we only use the trail to get to our next location. If we we put on 90 miles in a day, maybe 10 is on the trail.
