Another unfortunate experience.

Ah yes. The 25 thou limit. A meaningless perk. That way VISA can say they are giving you something. If they really wanted to give you something they would extend the credit out to two months with no interest. …
So true. But they'll award you "points" on each credit card purchase!
Wooo!
Then when you accumulate 50,000 "points" you can exchange them for a stuffed bear, or some other carnival side-show trinket. "Points" my azz! Reward me with a lower interest rate on the account!

… When the whole embedded chip thing is fully functional a big part of the fraud thing is supposed to be taken care of. … However it will just be one more hurdle for the hackers and other criminals that steal from the CC companies. I have no doubt that the crooks will find a way to hack the chip cards given a little time.
Yep, and they've already done that; we (and the Russkies) have known about it for at least 2½ years:

Oh yes something has been done about it. Many of the chip readers have not yet been enabled. Including mine. By law we had to pay to have the hardware installed a year and a half ago. In my region there are very few chip readers that are functional. I am just on my phone now but tomorrow I am going to forward all of Frnash references to my CC provider. Thanks Frnash.

Credit card processors are as many as there are credit cards. Some CC processors protect their merchants better then others.
