Answer; Every Snowmobile Dealer that has gone out of business in the past 10 years (probably about 300 of them). The ones that are still in business get to ride like once a year and are lucky to get a few hundred miles.

I was referring to working for Cat, Polaris, Doo, Yammy....not a dealer....that's different

You guys are in the minority..big time. People dont want extra weight for the minor gain of easier steering..... The cat is yamahas best product bar none and IMO does not need eps. I quite frankly hate it...no feedback. Maybe time for some of you to hit the gym LOL!

Again...Your "opinion"...lots of folks would argue with you about the cat being yamaha's "best product" (nice troll btw...i'll take the bait..lol)....it has nothing to do with hitting the gym...do you have a can am 4 wheeler with EPS???
It's about 'WANT" not need....anybody who has eps that has done a long day 200 plus miles knows how well eps works...it allows us to enjoy a sweet engine in a heavier chassis....we all know 4 strokes are heavier...with eps the weight isn't an issue for trail riders....you are trading weight for the four stroke reliability, and feel....You know as well as I...that the 4 stroke doo guys would love it (and it would be the best thing since sliced bread..just like everything else ski-doo makes...lol)....you are a two stroke guy, and quite frankly a Yamaha hater...so be it...you will never understand what us apex folks like...it's just not your thing..just like two strokes just ain't our thing....I wouldn't own another two stroke even if Yamaha made the lightest, fastest, DFI two stroke on the planet....not interested at all. If I was..I'd be on one.

My opinion... yes and appears to be the majority's as well going by how EPS sleds sell vs the rest of the market. Yes the sidewinder is yamahas best riding and handling sled. Bar none. No eps can am I have a 250R ;)

Lets weigh the pro's vs cons as you only mention one of the cons

'Pro'-Easier steering

ConS- Weight, Cost, another mechanical device that can fail.

Some people would like the 1200 and 900ace to have eps but most wouldn't when weighing the above.

Not a Yamaha hater, if I was rich I would own a sidewinder. But one sled only for myself :(

Mike Knapp just switched from his Doo 1200 to New Sidewinder. I asked him why, he said he loves his Doo 1200 but the ride and steering effort were better on the Sidewinder. Don't shoot the messenger, they're his words, not mine. That tells me that the Sidewinder can't be all that hard steering when riding, maybe at low speeds it may be but I personally don't mind the SW the way it is right now. MHO. I have heard many Apex guys say in the showroom they wish the SW had power steering. To each their own:)

Maybe the people who are asking for EPS actually have it already or have had some seat time with it?? Maybe the people who say they don't need or want it don't really know what they are missing?? Just a thought.

LOL ...no doubt Kip us Apex EPS riders are spoiled and don't care about the additional weight as the EPS easy steering bene is well worth every oz. I was very impressed with the SW demo ride at Pat's and the SW was very acceptable to me in many ways just missed the EPS so much. Can the EPS be factory installed on the SW perhaps on 2019 SW? Or is there something deeper going on here where Yamaha will not use EPS on Cat chassis per some agreement or Yamaha wants to keep EPS for their own use...I don't know what to think as most 4s riders could care less about weight or the additional cost of EPS. We want out sleds loaded with goodies and are willing to pay for them. To me the SW came close to the perfect 4s sled but came up short without EPS.

The Nytro and Viper are within a few pounds of each other.
The Apex motor is less than 5 pounds heavier than the 3 holer. Turbo and amenities add 47 pounds over the viper.
I'd place money on the apex being less than half a tank a fuel heavier than the sidewinder....and that is with apexs' eps.

Knapp bought an almost new red/white 2017 SW 137 with the QS3's. I do know he tossed the Tuners aside already being he had a few sets of Pilots on hand. He said he put on the 6.9's before he even rode it. His buddies that he had test rode before purchasing his was still using the Tuners.

I noticed on the 2018's many of the SW's either have the 1.25" RSII or they jump up to the 1.75 Backcountry or 2.25 PowerClaw. Very few have the 1.6 Cobra which I feel would be a really good UP of Michigan track if you choose not to stud.

I would def agree the sidewinder steers easier than a 2014 turbo 1200 and probably even easier than a 2017 1200. I wouldn't agree with the ride being as plush but its close. the sidewinder is the real deal on the trail.

Both darn good sleds momoney:) Great to be a consumer right now! Course trade value's aren't as good right now with all the wheeling and dealing. Products across the board are great from everyone is what I'm getting at:)

Low snow and shortened up seasons not helping anything. The snow we have left here is nuisance snow - not good for anything. Hard as a rock. Gone are the days of 4-5 thousand miles per year. The sport has always been expensive. You don't buy a sled to get rich. Any color. They are all stupid ways to spend money. However there is this sickness thing.

The weight gain is minimal...I was told less than 20 lbs...which on a machine that is approaching 700lbs fully fueled is really nothing. I have never seen one fail either...and believe me I owned two Attaks without it...and it makes a BIG difference...I could let my 15 yr old, 100 lbs daughter drive my xtx...I would never do that with the non eps sleds...(I wouldn't put a kid on a machine that powerful..just an example)...like I said we all get older....the eps lets the older trail veterans, and women, enjoy the power, low maintnance and reliability of a heavier four stroke...and I know my doo riding buddies would love it on their 1200s....because they told me so...they can't believe how much easier to turn/steer my apex is...I still say it would be a bonus on Four strokes...IMO..4 stroke riders don't care about weight...what's 20 lbs??..If weight is an issue to you...and you ride ski-doo..then u most likely ride an etech.
