Coming home from Green Bay yesterday I saw a guy riding on Hwy 29. It was 42 degrees, misting and so foggy you couldn't see hardly a 1/4 mile. No helmet either, just a stocking cap. I couldn't believe it. I could maybe see it if it was sunny, but it was a mess out there! I'm sure he's just like us sled heads, can't wait for that first ride. :)

Had it out for short ride. Need to finish this summer with new gas tank and wheels. It started as a 1976 Honda CB750.

How much do you guys spend on maintenance for a bike during the riding season?

More than the wife thinks:)!!

I guess it all depends on how much you ride. I put on about 5000 miles a year, so I'm usually needing to do something every year. Overall, bike maintenance isn't that bad. This year will be a bit more. My Harleys' 2 year warranty is up in May, so I will be having the dealer go over everything with a fine tooth comb before the warranty expires. Also, I will be needing my 10,000 mile service done-$280 (I run synthetic oil, so it's a bit more), and I'll be throwing a new rear tire on at the same time ($200). So I'll have $500 wrapped up in it very soon.

Pretty reasonable to operate. 6 gallon tank on my Ultra-if I'm not on the throttle much, tour pak and saddle bags not too loaded, and don't have the wife on board, I usually get between 250-300 miles out of a tank.

Other than the normal maintenace intervals, it's all about keeping er' clean, and enjoying the open road.

Took a ride today so the snowmobile went against the wall and Harley out. Who knows what will happen this weekend might have to change them around.

Wife is out riding right now. 62 degrees and very nice day out. My bike is in storage 110 miles north of home. To busy getting ready to go snowmobiling to go get it. She is laughing about me washing my sled in a T-shirt as she circles the block tooting her jap bike horn at me.

Still waiting for more of the snow to melt, so I can hit the two-tracks.

Miles!

I put 1350 miles on last week! I cheated tho, we took em to Florida! I have seen a lot out around here since we got back but, no thanks, I got my fix at least enough til it is nice out and the roads get washed off.
