Yamaha a prospective buyer I mean really!! That ship sailed years ago and ain’t coming back to port. This is agonizing to me went thru the pain with Yamaha.Read it and weep? This is seriously not good, and pretty much says they, POS Textron is not having any luck finding a solid, interested buyer that meets their $$ being asked. Absolutely SUCKS! Rumors will really get going wild now. However, when this all started, it didn't pass the smell test.
I absolutely agree Pete. Yamaha did sail away alright, sunk to the bottom, never to return. The John Deere buying rumor is just as foolish. They, John Deere also pulled a crap close down deal on their customers. Corporate crap.Yamaha a prospective buyer I mean really!! That ship sailed years ago and ain’t coming back to port. Sadly it seems so.Writings been on the wall for a while now...
how true and IDIOTIC the truth of that statement is, it seems today some people thrive on other companies hardships or misfortunes because someone doesn't like the brand, or my favorite all time thing as a business owner is the people who have all the answers as to what they did wrong or should have done, everyone is an expert yet 99% of the people still punch in and work for the man every day. Every company has had their struggles and I'm sure the powersports as an industry is struggling right now. I was told in spring when I inquired about ordering a new Catalyst that if i did not pre order one that in all likelihood I would not get one. it has been widely known the Cat brand has been for sale for some time now, nothing new here. And to deny than any of the manufacturers haven't gone through their production, recall or mechanical issues would be purely hypocritical to say the least. JimAndros last sentence says alot and doesn't just apply to 400hp outboards... think about it.The doo and poo cat haters can have a big party now.
Hopefully someone steps in

I totally understand your sour grapes feelings. However, hate gains no one anything! The sad fact of this matter is, and I don't know why, but every since the first sale of AC, to a new owner, the AC life history is of absolutely terrible, failed, top end management. That always makes for a hard sale, as a damaged product. No way around that fact! And as it appears now, Textron takes the cake. Enjoy your ride, be safe, and leave the despair behind. Sorry, but I'm a realist.how true and IDIOTIC the truth of that statement is, it seems today some people thrive on other companies hardships or misfortunes because someone doesn't like the brand, or my favorite all time thing as a business owner is the people who have all the answers as to what they did wrong or should have done, everyone is an expert yet 99% of the people still punch in and work for the man every day. I have been a Cat guy since 1995, this doesn't change my stance or my support for the brand and I too hope someone will buy the brand and continue its legacy. but for now I will sit back with my bag of popcorn, shake my head and laugh at all the rumors, theories and negative nellies who just hate and will bash the brand as it will truly be comical, and wont realize the ramifications it will have for the industry when you only have 2 manufacturers in the field. Hopefully a sale will happen, I will continue to support the brand and thoroughly enjoy my new Arctic Cat Catalyst.
p.s. Hoosier I was not referring to your statement as being idiotic, only to the ones who get off on this situation.
Hopefully someone steps in
For the love of the sport…..I saw the business article about textron. From that article, regarding the changes they are making: "This charge will reduce adjusted earnings per share for 2024 by approximately $0.12 to $0.16." Hopefully a couple extra dimes a share will make their big shareholders happy and they can get back to chasing tax payer funded govt contracts.
Came across the article below a while ago. The way things once were with these companies.

From the article:
In the early days of Polar/Arctic Enterprises, when the company was behind schedule and struggling to meet production deadlines, David Johnson and Allen Hetteen sent Polaris employees to TRF to help them build components like gas tanks and clutches, and to assemble snowmobiles.
Let that sink in for a moment.
The president and leadership at Polaris sent their own employees to Arctic Cat, their competitor, to help build snowmobiles in order to meet production schedules.
Yep, it happens that they were good, perhaps very close friends from previous ventures. That doesn't happen anymore now daysI saw the business article about textron. Jim I have slowed down considerably since we rode together age , bad shoulders and the years have taken their toll on me. I have evolved to 150 4s HP is plenty for me don’t need or use 165-200 ponies in a sled for trail riding and I’m currently riding a150 hp Enduro since Yamaha kicked me out the door. We lost contact when you moved to Duluth and changes in life brought us both south in WI. I will definitely ride with you on a day trip recruit euphoric too you lead your turf just let me know when enough snow.Cat & the others pushed product on their dealers until they (dealers) failed starting in the early 2000s.
Then the "Great Recession"
Then the 2012 chassis with a zillion recalls....
800s & Turbos eating belts, 4 strokes that failed in reverse & 2 recalls to fix the problem, dimmers switches that failed without warning leaving you in the dark, tie rods that were torqued incorrectly, tunnels that kinked. Did I miss anything?
All this while corporate offices were moved from TRF to MPLS because they (Cat) were a global company and TRF was too remote for visitors. BS, it's because they hired some pretty boy to worry about stock value, not long term profit & sustainability.
Sound familiar? Maybe Boeing, GE, Chrysler/Stelantis?
How about Starbucks giving some CS $80 million/year & he must report to work in SEA 3 days/week. How many cups of coffee is that while they refuse to pay their employees a liveable wage?
I feel bad for the employees & hope someone buys the company. Textron will end up selling it at a loss. Of course they already raped Polaris 40 years earlier.
The real truth is no one (possibly someone living in the brush of Canida or AK) needs a sled. Want, yes. Need, no.
I had fun on a 79 TLX. Do I want to go back to premix fuel, minimal suspension, no reverse and poor fuel mileage? No I don't & the EPA wouldn't allow building one now.
But reality is I don't want a 100 MPH $20K plus machine either. Not even if Whitedust is buying.
Manufacturers (power sports, boats, RV) have advertised & given the press to demo top end products that the have entry level buyer walking, not buying, not riding.
On the Wolf R there are several pontoons with twin 400HP Mercury outboards. How did I ever have fun with a 35 Evinrude on a pontoon?
