Are you changing your driving habits yet ?

Last time gas encroached on the $4.00 mark people started to get creative. I have heard stories of people over inflating tires, trying to stay on the painted lines for less friction, hitchhiking, ect. ect.

Drive less get netflix?

We will drive less, thinking of getting netflix so we don’t go crazy sitting in the house because we can’t go anywhere or do anything.

If you have netflix do you use it enough to justify the cost?

Naw just limit useless trips to town & get it all done 1 trip.

Exactly. Been doing that since gas skyrocketed a couple years ago and never got out of the habit. Fortunately I live only 3/4 mile from work so most of the time I walk in the winter and ride my bicycle when it's warm.

It sucks going on trips though, especially hauling a 30' fifth wheel and getting 8-9 mpg!

No changes here yet. We just might not be pulling the camper for long distances this summer. At $4 gas and 9.5 mpg in the truck pulling the camper, we will probably limit the long trips.

We had netflix for several months and then got rid of it. It was like going thru the cable channels. Lots of movies but nothing that interested us. I will say that we are not big movie people anyway, so that may be part of the problem.

I have not changed yet, except for "common sense" trips. Like picking up my alcohol AS I drive past the liquor store on the way home. But still have my camping trips planned.

The last time gas went way up we changed our habits, and pretty much have stuck to the new habits ever since.

I fill up once a week, so does my wife, I have 62 miles a day, she has 50. Last weeks fill ups were 50 bucks each, both cars get 24-27 mpg. That is 400 a month in gas, basically to get to work and back. Add that to my health insurance increase, and we are at 928 a month. So, my $125 dollar 1983 Yamaha Maxim will be coming out pretty fricken soon. LOL. We've also discussed staying at her moms one or two nights a week, if gas gets really out of control, that would put me with a 20 mile drive, and my wife with about a 6 mile drive, or walk.

And before anyone says buy a car with better mpg, both cars are paid for. :)

I drive 135 miles per day for work so I've found the sweet spot on my car that gets me the best gas mileage. It's crazy how by going just 2 mph fast or slower can effect my mileage drastically.

Other than that we are just trying to limit unnecessary trips.

I floor my straight piped big pushrod V8 everytime I pass a Priu$.

Getting the 427 cubic inch dinosaur burner out in two weeks; can't wait.

There's only so much oil left in the world and I'm going to use my fair share. So do all you can to conserve it for me. Thanks. :D

little bit. had to put a little bit of money into my wifes escape this week. im gonna start driving that to work which is 80 miles round trip. she is gonna start driving my truck, as she drives about 20 miles round trip. other then that not really, plenty of trips to da yoop planned for the year, but i dont have to tow anymore either, makes the trips cheaper.
hopefully something will give
