Need to QUIT giving the petrol people tax breaks that they get. I think they are doing just fine without them.

This would be a great idea, if they didn't raise the price after taking that tax break away from them. Ya right.

I'm lucky my husband has a company vehicle (for now) and I work from home a few days a week, so we don't have to change much of our daily habits.
But did anyone notice how the prices were skyrocketing with the Libyan civil unrest? Then the Japan quake/tsunami happened- and the news all changed gears. No one is talking about Libya anymore. And since it's out of the spotlight, prices have dropped again. It's not just the oil companies that are the culprits- it's wall street. Oil prices are not set by corporate execs, they are set by the market. Good ole' supply & demand. Start talking about possible supply issues (with unrest in the middle east) and the prices jump. Stop talking about it- and people stop panicking, and the prices go down.

Like some have mentioned before I have made adjustments from the last time gas was high.
I just have kept the same routine. In summary, I sold the boat (no loss). When the time came I got rid of the 4 jeeps I owned and replaced them with vehicles that get about 40%-50% better millage.
I take the train to downtown Chicago when I can. Also saves on the crazy parking meter and parking lot charges.
Example I took the train to at least 5 Blackhawk games caught the bus to the UC and back. Train & bus tickets $22.00 round trip for two. Parking alone is $17.00 saved at least one hour of driving probably more , plus gas wear and tear.

They will be up another 10 cents by Monday...oil shootin up over $100 again.

Someone verify this but on another thread there are people that were tied to the petroleum industry. The thread suggests filling up in the morning will yield you more fuel due to density. Makes sense to me!!!

it is in a fraction of a cent. I would rather drive all around town to find the best deal. lol. Flipping off greenies as I go! (not really).

The fact that they had enough people unsure about this to need to test it says a lot. People think aerodynamics don't apply to them I guess? Pretty funny stuff.

They needed some thing to fill air time. Kinda like" Dirtest jobs". New show "Pawn Queens" up next on TLC.

Pawn Queens

I saw Pawn Queens last night and other than the tight T shirts it was NOT GOOD. Looked low budget and poor video. The man bashing was too much sillyness to show that the women were in charge.
TOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much drama!

Gas Prices

Yes keeping better tabs on unecessary trips since already drive 45 miles round trip to the office each day/plus sales calls some days. Love the Chevy Truck, but............ouch on da gas these days.

NETFLIX: Have it, really enjoy it. Nothing like being able to pick and watch a movie at Home, pause for breaks ect. Bad thing about it I found is, since more and more peoplle are using we seem to have more problems with it(ie deactivating, causing need to go back on computer and enter code, at times stopping while watching a movie). Increased the band with and still
occasional problems. Some say its the blue ray player, others say it the amount of people now using.............go figure.

You have to update equipment to cure that. I plugged the ethernet cord directly into my Roku box then HDMI to TV and Netflix runs much better this way than doing it wireless.

I drive 135 miles per day for work so I've found the sweet spot on my car that gets me the best gas mileage. It's crazy how by going just 2 mph fast or slower can effect my mileage drastically.

Other than that we are just trying to limit unnecessary trips.
TO work or FOR work? You might want to think about moving!

No changes, actually burning more gas. Would like to drive much less, but finding good paying work is getting further and further from home.

I have changed..............I was driving a chevy suburban 500/700 miles a week for my sales job....I was filling up evey 4-6 days...$85-$90 a pop..... I traded off the surburban 3 weeks ago for a chevy cruze....34mpg $45 at the pump .............the car is paying for its self and i'm putting about $300/$400 a month back into my pocket.......I still have a 2002 GMC 1500 for pulling the trailer...... if gas goes over $4 per gallon, I'll look like a Eistein........

Nice Shelby, gas prices are getting to that point of "paying for the new car" themselves if you change MPG's as much as you did.
