The 5"6" of snow we got earlier this week was beat down after the light rain Wednesday. Still there was good snow to be found on FR's
and old logging roads. TR31N north of Valhalla and west of Bayfield was smooth as silk. Got some rain last evening then followed by a couple inches of snow. More riding today with our cottage guests. www.woodsidecottages.com IMG_3670[1].jpg IMG_3664[1].jpg IMG_3663[1].jpg IMG_3658[1].jpg

Good to hear from you Chris. Hope you have been able to get some riding down there in Indy.

Old logging roads are fun, the trails range from fair to excellent as well as the forest roads. Hope we get a good share of he storm on Tuesday.

I can't say much about the trails in the IR area as I haven't been down that way for a month. My bro rode the IR area with some of our cottage guests on Friday and said that the trails south of IR had lots of thin spots especially in the wooded areas and corners but were OK..

The area could get some snow Tuesday which always helps.

The trails in the Bayfield area are holding up well, some better than others. There is a good base on most trails. The groomer started to work TR1 west of Bayfield today which has been delayed as it needed to be brushed.

Woodside - how are things fairing up there for you? What have you seen for snowfall totals?

Thanks in advance!

6-8" of new snow with the storm yesterday. Looking for great trails by the weekend and the FR's will be a whole lot softer now.I

Some pics from our ride today. Lots of fresh snow to push around and the groomer to work with. Measured one spot at the end of an old logging road at 28" but that is definitely the high end. Still, plenty of snow to enjoy up here west of Bayfield. IMG_3691[1].jpg IMG_3689[1].jpg IMG_3692[1].jpg

Our ride today. 5-6" of fresh snow on the FR's which is always nice and the groomed trails we touched were very good to excellent. IMG_3780[1].jpg IMG_3778[1].jpg IMG_3779[1].jpg

Depends on how much rain comes down. Seems like it will be widespread.

But, the Bayfield area probably has as good or better base than most any other area in NW Wisconsin.

We will be riding starting tomorrow with our cottage guests so we will know what is going on. Call us at 715-779-5600 if you have questions.

OK so far today as we had 4-5" of fresh snow on the old logging roads & FR's and fantastic groomed trails. Found a few old logging roads with 2+feet of snow or more back on some of logging roads. All just west of Bayfield riding with our cottages guests. Then it started to rain about 5:30pm. Sure hope we can get out again tomorrow. Saw 5 sleds all day. Yeh, the rain was a bummer Friday and also midday today, but we still had a good weekend of riding. The trails held up very well, thanks to the good base, except for TR1 from Cornie tor TR41. That section will need 4"+ of good snow to get it back in shape. We rode 155 miles today mostly on the trails, which was unusual for us. The FR's were very soft and wet so it was best to stay off them.

We had 33 riders out of cottages this weekend and they hung in there in spite of the rain and had a very good time.

Conditions will be firm and icy once it freeze tonight and the trails will be very hard once they get groomed. So John needs to dial up about 3-4" of fresh snow the first part of this week, thank you!!! IMG_3798[1].jpg IMG_3799[1].jpg IMG_3800[1].jpg IMG_3801[1].jpg

We rode this afternoon with our cottage guests. The trails are hard and fast and conditions will vary from poor (TR1 west of Bayfield and south of Cornie) to very good. There was less than 1" of fresh snow which helped with lube and coolant but our sleds have scratchers. No major over heting problems. Another 1" of snow would be a big help. Maybe tonight. The groomers have been working the trails.

We have availability at our cottages www.woodsidecottages.com or call us at 715-779-5600 IMG_3818[1].jpg IMG_3816[1].jpg IMG_3817[2].jpg

The forest roads are hard and have shallow ski and track ruts left over from last weekend but many of them are rideable.
