Thanks for all the replies and support. To be honest, I feel a bit like a fool and should have known better. I will live and learn from this, just need to decide next step, if any.
Kip - I was wondering if you were going to respond because usually you are spot on. I have been in touch with Yamaha customer service, and while they were pleasant to deal with, I hit a dead end. Basically was told I will need a subpoena to move forward. To do that, I believe I will need an attorney. Is there another person you might know I could be in contact with to elevate? Of course, your name and business will stay out of this.
FWIW, I am registered on this sled as the first owner, with a 1 year standard Yamaha warrantee.
