best boot to buy?

Ok, been lurking all summer, check in here and there, see the volume of posts
are starting too go up and Haydays right around the korner.
Have had Trukke boot forever,8-9 years, last 2 years my feet get saturated, gee then they get cold. Tryed waterproofing them does not help so piss on it I need a new pair.
I know everybody love Klim and I just bought there bids last year but I thought I would just throw this out to see what everybody thinks.
Did read a post on another board that a guy hated the Klim adrenaline, feet got cold.
I have a couple buddys that have Klim and HJC, I loved my Trukke because they had pull out liners so they would dry, don't know how you can dry them except put on vent or a boot dryer without pullout. What are the plus and minus of not having liners?
And yes there have been past threads on this but this is easer!
Thanks
booney

I have Rocky boots, purchased from Gander Mountain. They have 1000 grams of Thinsulate and my feet have always stayed warm. As long as it is not extreme cold, -25 degrees or so. They are light and comfy and I think they are considered a hunting boot. I would definately buy them again.

I started reading this, and thought we have the same boot. Anyways, we don't. I believe mine are called the jasper trac or something and I think they're JUNK! My feet get SOAKED and I've only had them 2 or 3 years. They have a liner... Im in the market for a new boots also, hoping to spend between 100-120 but want a big name boot (Klim, hmk, etc.). Mom thinks I need a liner, I say no...

I don't like the boots with the pull-out liners because that's just what happens when I take them off, the liner comes out of the boot with my foot. I know it's a minor annoyance but I prefer the boots and liner to be one in the same.

The most important feature is that of keeping our feet warm. In my case I wear the BRP (Bombardier) boot that I bought from a dealer a few years ago. They're warm and dry and I'd probaby buy the same thing again as I'm pleased with the product.

It's probably worth mentioning that some of us are more "cold blooded" than others due to poor circulation issues. There are some people that regardless of the layers, gear, etc. are just going to get cold feet and hands during the winter months outdoors.

Threads like this one are a great source of information before making a purchase. Good luck!

HMK......boa, no laces, and removable liners.

the boots absolutely rock. never wet, solid fit, lots of support.
tighten them up with a twist of the knob, and unlace them with just one pinch.

the liners are made by Intuition, very reputable snowboard boot liner.

the outer boot material, improved last season is very strong and durable holding up well when kicking your toe holds out.

I can get you 10-15 percent off HMK goods too. feel free to pm me...

I'd buy something with a name-brand waterproof material like gore-tex or e-vent (motorfist has a new e-vent boot out with a replaceable sole). Klim is the obvious choice but cabelas, gander mountain etc. will have others with gore-tex.

I took a chance on a snowmobile boot that was super-comfortable and supposedly breathable and waterproof. It is still comfortable, but it isn't waterproof and doesn't dry out quickly either so I don't think it's very breathable. I won't take a chance again on a boot without gore-tex or something very comparable. Unless you are mountain riding, boots should last a long, long time.

I'd say your best bet is go to Haydays and try them all on....

I wear HMK Pro with Laces (wish they were the Boa), and they have fantastic support and do typically stay dry, but they don't have any serious waterproofing like goretex or e-vent. They have a removable liner that is nice to pull out to dry when done riding (plus there is no way this liner would come out by just pulling your foot out. It is in there solid).

Klim Adrenaline had great waterproofing, but quite as great support.

Klim Arctic I'm not real familiar with but seems to be a little more support than the Adrenaline without the removable liner

Klim Radium has the same great waterproofing as the Adrenaline, with a lot more support. It also has removable liners. It is a really heavy boot though.

To be honest I would wait a little bit until you get a chance to try the Motorfist gear. If the quality is anything compared to their other gear, that may be the boot to get...

One last thought on dry feet... Whatever you decide to go with be sure to spring for a pair of synthetic moisture wicking socks. They are critical to making sure the goretex or e-vent does what it is supposed to. Wool socks will work in a pinch, but still not as well, and white cotton socks will make things much worse...

I wear the RU Outside Bill Townsend boots. Hard to find but they are very comfortable and warm. Only draw back is, riding in alot of powder, they do take in snow if not sinched tight enough at the top.

I don't like tall stiff boots so, if that's what your looking for, I would look at some of the other boots suggested above.

I bought Klim adrenaline's two years ago, never had cold feet. We rode in -25° F and no cold feet. Maybe I just don't get cold feet?
I would buy them again when these wear out.

I like RU outside Townsend Boots the best so far. had Klim, skidoo (leak), Poo (cold and leak), Trukkes are nice (make my feet look small too), Lacrosse Iceman (very nice), Cabelas pack boot (cold, leak, wear fast), Mikey mouse in white and black (bulky but work great for warmth), Sorels (okay). even moon boots back in the day, lol. Many boots, many versions over the years. Guess it is a personal preference thing such as sled brands and models.

I'v had a pair of Baffin boots for yrs. now and love em' for warmth and dryness. Never had any trouble with them. My reservations are they are on the heavy side. But I never blew one out lifting a sled from the brush. Also a plus, made in Canada. It aint USA but also aint CHINA! You know what I mean?

Klim Adrenaline is the warmest/dryest boot I have ever owned, this will be my fourth season with them, well worth the money[been in this sport since 1967]. Pat's Yamaha in Greenland is now a full Klim dealer, ask for Kip.

I have the Klim Adrenaline boots and they are great. They are not much bigger than a work boot and my feet are never cold. My bibs always come unzipped and I get snow in my boots and my feet are wet.. but never cold. I think I'll be in the market for new bibs this year.
